Canon 500D and Nikon D400 are Rumoured to Come

Before the Japanese PIE, the following rumours/leaks have come:-

New Canon 500D (Digital Rebel) coming on March 25 - 1001 Noisy Cameras

Nikon D400 is here? - Nikon Rumors

Both of the above models, if the rumours are true, will have Full HD movie recording function on a DSLR.

So, what Pentax will offer? Still Nothing?

So Pentax has no interest in shooting crappy video with a dSLR. At the end of the day both the Nikon D90, and the Canon 5D mk.II are poor video cameras. Samsung does have a FF CMOS sensor, but likely isn't refined enough yet.

Hopefully Pentax waits out the HD-Video on DSLR rage and comes up with a new modell, when people understodd, that stills are stills and video is video, no use in getting both from the same tool. I mean, a hammer is a hammer and if I need a screwdriver I go get one, dont try to use the hammer, do I?
BTW, the only product so far, that could proof me wrong, would be the RED system, and they dont come out with anything affordable on the market....

  5. Yes, stills are stills, videos are videos. But it does no harm when a still has video and a video has still, which comes in handy when you don't have the other part. No doubt.

    No interest or no ability?

    "Poor" is better than None.

No, Samsung has now being gone ahead for their NX project, which has an APS-C sensor and has left Pentax alone. Don't make such a dream anymore. If Pentax is really still to make a FF somedays, they have to buy existing FF sensor from Sony. But before that, they shall figure out how they should re-build their 135 FF lens lineup first.
