K-7 Firmware 1.02 Promotes Noise?

This K-7 user has updated the new firmware, but he found now his K-7 ISO 800 shots are even more "measly". See the crops of samples he posts and I am quite sure that you will feel for him!:-

http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/783991-post45.html

The shots are really so scary and terrible! All EXIF data are kept intact so you can check more shooting details yourself.

He further stated that going back to firmware 1.01 could eliminate the problem:-

But then I think the K-7 Jpegs are really just too noisy at ISO 400 already with original firmware. So?

Besides, someone in the same thread has done a quick test and posts a ISO 100 shot, a ISO 3200 shot and 3 comparison shots for normal Sharpness, Fine Sharpness (1) and Fine Sharpness 2 in Full Size. Go figure out the differences, if any visible, by yourself:-

The ISO 3200 shot is really unusable btw, IMHO.

I so happened did not see that "no improvement" post and samples as it is a different thread. Thanks for the supplement anyway.
No differences in NR and IQ after firmware upgrade.

Here we go again, Only thing i can say as an example is , "IN A CAR" , You don't press too much on a gasoline pedal while on first gear to go faster , You'll be noticeable to other drivers on the road, Shift it to higher gear to go faster and less noise, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
Could you just please buy a P&S camera.

I disagree with you. I am a K7 owner and user. I found that that the noise level below ISO1000 is much better after the firmware upgrade to 1.02. May be you should buy a K7 and test it yourself. Moreover it is really nonsense to request an APS-C camera with usable ISO3200. If you really want good performance at high ISO. buy a nikon D3.

The ISO 3200 of the new K-x is not that bad.

Of course, Full Frame is better. There is no doubt. But Pentax has no Full Frame body and a complete lens system at this moment. Do we all old Pentaxians need to jump ship if so?
Do all old Pentaxians need ISO3200 for shooting ? Have you ever buy a ISO800 film in film age ?
So, in the past we shot films, why now most people went and shoot digital??
Mostlly because digital is cheaper, not always better.. in fact i would say i most cases worse.. There are tools apropriete for shooting ISO 3200, why don't you bash olympus for unusable hi iso? Why not bashing canon for loosing details? Compering 12 mpix to 14,6 mpix is like apples to oranges. In my opinion k-7 is a good camera but you can't judge because of one or two reports about getting worse images with new firmware. It would be more fair if you would stop writing in such emotional manner.
Well, who are being "emotional" actually?

And, to compare "apples" to "oranges" is very easily, just view or print the pictures at the same sizes. If there are any differences that can be seen, there are differences!
But we aren't comparing prints as far as i know. Laws of statistics say that if we have a group of 5 resoults we should eliminate the worst one and the best one. I'm saying that there was one report about promoting noise and several that said it ain't. In my opinion it to not being emotional you should not write in: "really so scary and terrible!" that way. Let people look at it for themselfs, in that way your promoting a way of thinking. You've done that more than once, why not keep with it? ANyway have a good day:P
In the same thread at pentaxforums another user is very satisfied with the new firmware : NR HIGH (not medium) and FS2.

It needs "High" NR so as to make it good now?? (My experience is that Fine Sharpness increases also fine noise!)

Your experience?
You don't even own a K7.

You rely on other peoples experiences, people who are of an unknown quantity, many with no real experience which makes your knowledge of cameras sit right at the inexperienced level with them.

Unless there is something you aren't telling us...
