As for lenses, looking at http://ricehigh.blogspot.com/2009/10/compatibilit... shows that Pentax's lens lineup really hits the sweet spot anyway:
• Only 5 of the 13 DA primes are not considered FF (and all DA* primes are compatible). This, along with an update to the 85mm 1.4 is all that is needed. Well, maybe an update to the 15mm Limited as well.
• While none of the DA zooms are compatible, the only lenses to worry about are the 16-50 DA* (which everyone wants to see revised anyway) and the 50-135 DA*(which, along with the 60-250 DA*, should really be replaced with an update of the 80-200 2.8) - the rest can really remain the same for the APSc cameras. Seriously, I am not buying a 50-300 4-5.8 to put on a FF camera, nor the 50-200, or the 18-270. If I am buying a FF, I want to maximize that sensor.
• The FA Limited primes really cover most of the ranges of the DA Limiteds, with the exception of the 14-15 range.
So, April seems exactly where I thought Pentax would release a FF. If its just a K5II with a 24mp sensor shoehorned in there, I think most of us would be happy. If they beat the other guys on the $2,000 pricetag, it would be even better. I see a two-camera announcement, along with an entry level that is sup cheap, but does not have weatherstripping, and is probably a pentamirror. I would love to see a 24mp Toshiba sensor in a new APSc model, pushing the K5II and the K30 down in price and market, but I doubt that.
I still am hoping for a new mirrorless that can go between M4/3 and K Mount with a powered adapter, but I am dreaming on that one.
