Someone needs corrections here! I thought the GR1 was a 35mm FILM camera, and the first GRD was a 1/1.8" sensored Digital Camera. This new GR is the first APS-C sized GR, film or digital.

Pentax/Ricoh (aka Baskin/Robins) is limited to the 31 colors (flavors) that the K-30 has, so no more K-5 let alone a Full Frame DSLR.

Yes, same Mistral75 here, on Pentax Forums, Chassimages and other photo forums.

How you managed to find that official promotional video then?

Asahiflex on Pentax Forums found it:

"I just noticed that Ricoh Pentax uploaded a new movie on Youtube (I got a mail from Youtube notifying me of any new uploads from RICOH Pentax)".

I had time to download it before it was labelled "private". I sent it to Mirrorless Rumors and Photo Rumors and the former uploaded it on YouTube.
So, please send it to me for the next time! ;-)

What is funny is that the bootlegged video http://youtu.be/88LiM3RSVVo has been watched 84,070 times and the official one http://youtu.be/2S_DOLn68y4 ... 1,304 times only ! :)
Its all becoz of you! Lol..
So, Pentax finally released nothing and Ricoh some stupid fixed focus 28mm camera, with an old sensor, that looks like the ultra cheap little black plastic kodak camera my parents had in the 80s.

It cost more than a DSLR with a faster 28mm?
doesn't fit your needs, nor u can just undestand, then i'ts "stupid"...

or maybe your parents used to have great camera in the 80's that u cant understand neither?

the picture quality compared to the nikon makes me kinda sad for nikon

indeed the ricoh is cheaper lol

seems to be a little nice camera!!!
Cool offering from R-P. But confusing that Ricoh has not switched over to Pentax's hot shoe standard, surely that would make more sense...

Kind regards.
I'm a DLSR Pentax and GRD III Ricoh user and this new GR, pocketable, APS, 28mm camera is the camera that most of current GRD (I,II, III, IV) owners were awaiting for. Photographers who have been using the GRD serie want to make the specific and unique kind of pictures you make only with a wide and fast lens 28mm. The controls, performances, and in particular the unique "snap" function (you set the focus on a specific distance - excellent tool for street photography) and handling (it's like a natural extension of your hand) are exceptional! I think Ricoh truly listened to those of us who make photos, and are consider a camera as a tool. The camera is not important, it's what you want and can do with it! Thanks Pentax/Ricoh
