Breaking News! Pentax "K-3" is "Weeks Away" to Come, Said Adam Oest of the Pentax Forums!!

The following are what told and posted today!

"With the announcement of the K-3 supposedly just weeks away, I would think that they've probably already finalized most if not all of the hardware."

"For all we know it might not even end up being called the K-3! I doubt Pentax would make two back-to-back announcements given that the hd limiteds came out a week ago."

And I have captured the evidence ;-), just because Adam usually liked to delete even his own "sensitive" posts afterwards, but not only for those written by other ordinary members! :-o

So, let's wait and see for what the new "K-3" will be! But very likely we shall yet see yet another APS-C body, maybe with a new 24MP cropped sensor? And finally! >:-|

Btw, for what it is clearly told, the announcement will not be today. A few hours later, we shall only see that new "360" DC toy.

It is not so "breaking news"... There will be a new APS-C released before the end of 2013 according to some Pentax authorized dealers in different country. Nothing new...

Somehow it takes thousands of dollars a month to run that site. Now I know why. Interesting they are starting nikon forums. I don't know how I feel about adam and co anymore to be honest. They seem to have an anti-pentax bias in their reviews lately.

I suspect much of their flock has moved on to other brands. They will have CF in November. I typed in that site for fun and it has the same placeholder as NF.

Ugh. You are right. I guess it only makes sense that they would expand into greater markets. You know what irks me? They want donations but can't even seem to hire and editor with those thousands of dollars. Their reviews and facebook updates are constantly full of spelling errors. Their reviews are wholly unscientific at worst and amateurish at best. I love the review database, but again, only donating members can really take advantage of certain features of the site. I know adam has done a lot of work for the community over the years, but I really don't need to chip in on his paycheck, especially when canikon ads are very prominent on the front page.

It irks me that they beg for donations and don't disclose whether they are non-profit or not.

They ask for donations to cover "high server costs", but have ads plastered everywhere.

If they are non-profit, disclose salaries. If they aren't, stop asking for "donations" to subsidize the business.

But whatever, only a fool would "donate" to pay their high server costs while they make money, IMO. And they must make money to expand to the other brands.

Luckily for their business model, there is a fool born every minute.

The key word that irks is "donation". Donation implies non-profit. non-profits disclose their salaries. If they asked for a payment, I see nothing wrong.

Rice, most likely end of October, beginning of November. I say, we are very lucky if we get anything in 6 months. Then JFY ends, and maybe, just maybe something starts to happen that may be perceived they have some idea what they are doing.
