Possibly This is the New Ricoh "Ground Breaking" Thing that is to be Announced Later Today! >:-L

Which was posted accidentally at Ricoh US website a few days ago! See the Google cached snapshot below:

So, below are the product highlights:

A new way to take pictures
The RICOH THETA is lightweight and small enough to carry with you anywhere. Unlike a normal camera, the RICOH THETA captures everything around it. It is ideal for spontaneous moments since there is no need to compose your shot.

The next best thing to actually being there
Where you would normally just look at a picture, the RICOH THETA lets you explore and become part of your images. You can move through the image left and right, up and down and experience details you didn’t see with your eyes.

Start sharing the world around you
The RICOH THETA takes pictures like nothing you’ve ever seen before—stunning spherical images of everything around you. The RICOH THETA sends images over Wi-Fi to your iPhone and with one tap you can share them on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr.

Hey, Pentaxians, are you excited? >:-L

And also, does it produce the image quality that could come close to this and this? I don't think so! ;-p

No, I'm not excited at all. How long are they going to string us along? Obviously people are still waiting judging by the lack of availability of the good Pentax glass like the f2.8 zooms, 85f1.4, etc...

When is the D600 successor coming? It's got to be sooner than this Pentax FF.

If they make the D600 smaller and cheaper, address the stain issues, they will have a hit. I'm waiting for the D600 successor or the Pentax FF. Whichever comes first. My money is on the D600 successor.
Rice, IFA is the consumer electronics show, definitely not a photography expo. Pentax fans are crazed with anticipation, but do you think a 645D successor and lenses (as they expect) will be announced, surrounded with ranges of stoves, refrigerators, smart vacuum cleaners, coffee machines and futuristic home appliances?
On the other hand, in a major photography show in the western hemisphere — PhotoPlus Expo in New York in October – Ricoh isn't even exhibiting. What do you make of all this nonsense?

Look at the video on demand about Sony Press Conference: they show photographic and video equipment at the IFA, which "is the consumer electronics show, definitely not a photography expo". (C)
Maybe they decide to do this because they definitely have what to show to the World?

A vibrator with an integrated 360° camera? Nice close-ups in perspective.

Let's hope it's splash-proof ;).
1 MP camera for 400 USD....Ha-ha
Personally, I'm only moderately excited about this because to me it's just a gadget vs. a photographic tool that fits into my hobby. At the same time I know that Ricoh is not targeting me with this product. It's more for the young hipsters who have money to spend from a recent job (or go in debt). This is also for the artists who like to experiment and make those "cool videos" we see on Youtube which are filled with loud music and choppy scene transitions. One benefit of this "gadget" is that a whole new crowd of people will start seeing the name brand and possibly grow into it and with it. I applaud that effort. Let's see how it goes.

The price is kind of high. For $400 I would rather get the upcoming Sony A3000 but let's see what prices will be like around December and even in early 2014.

Great step forward: the collection of Q-gadgets supplemented with Theta360-gadget.
What's innovative will be the next?
I would have loved to have a camera like this to showcase places I have visited in my extensive travels. Sure beats the boring old pan shot video I have been doing to get an over all feel to the place for when I am too absorbed in photography to feel a place.
This is quite a cool item, but for 400$ maybe its not for me, but wow do people do seem to have a narrow view of things , maybe you need to open up your own perspective a few degree's like this camera?
Ohhh ya No full frame ????Pentax Ricoh is doomed, doomed doomed.

Oh, no! Ricoh (Pentax) is not doomed! There are 5 (!) important unique reasons to choose Pentax DSLR: http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/products/w...
no other photographic brands can offer the same or better reasons to choose their DSLR.
And the most important and unique reason to choose Ricoh (Pentax) is the reason No.4 - the "Color variations". I wonder why this important photographic option mounted as the fourth - it should be at the first place as a main marketing tenet.
And now, after tremendous success in presentation of the Theta360 we can add the sixth reason to choose the Ricoh's DSLR.
If I could start from the very beginning today I would choose the Pentax once more (5 +1 reasons !).
