Over years, I have bought 13 of those, all brand new. However, I haven't bought the recent and newer "Pentax" lenses for quite a while. It is because they are not attractive enough and are not value for money in my eyes or being too bulky and heavy. Is it only me?

I have just one Pentax lens currently for my Pentax cameras - the 16-45/4. Others I have are Sigma 18-35/1.8, Sigma 50/1.4 HSM, Sigma 8-16/..., and Tamron 70-200/2,8. It just so happens. No plans for new purchases for now, whatever the adds promote.
RH, you are right. As you say, they are not attractive enough and are not value for money or being too bulky and heavy.

Selling a rebadged Tamron at a higher price is ridiculous.
Yes, it is a shame. I always suspected, that Hoya did shut down the lens engineering department at Pentax completely in 2009, because Hoya already had Tokina for that, and wanted to remove this costly redundancy. Because of that, Jun Hirakawa, the godfather of the Limiteds, had to go. Pentax never recovered from that know-how loss. I suspect, as a consequence, that all newer lenses are designed by 3rd parties now? some are just obvious duplicates (such as the FF standard zoom), some may have been designed exclusively for Ricoh?

If Ricoh is not even capable of making a standard zoom on their own any longer, why would they be able to design any other lens on their own.

Too bad that Jun Hirakawa didn't convice Tamron to take adopt the Limiteds strategy.

Nowadays, Fujifilm seems to have taken over the role of being the contemporary "Limited"-maker, because they have been pushing out many compact f/2 primes alongside their f/1.2 or f/1.4 primes, with Leica-like rendering properties

Where at Pentax/Hoya/Ricoh, things are standing still there since 2009, due to the beforementioned reasons.
Didn't Ricoh design their own lenses for the GR and GXR? They were pretty competent in that.
