DPR Reviewed the DFA*50 F1.4, with Samples

Overall looks not too positive. And, it mentions about a rebadged OEM lens, too. Btw, DPR seems not too Pentax friendly these days. ;-)

Historically, I don't know that they have ever been because they use Canon and Nikon as a defacto standard of comparison. Talk about bias.
taditionally, Pentax stuff always got praised, if it was good.
E.g. "higly recommended" for the K10D, twelve years ago.

The fact that contemporary stuff like the K-1 II doesn't get any recommendation at all any longer, cannot be explained with any bias. I think it has to be explained from where Pentax really stands today? Not that a K-1 II would be bad, but the competition seems so much more advanced by now in so many respects, especially 2018 is a suprising year.

12 years ago, the K10D was a milestone because it was closing the gap, after its "too little too late" predecessor *ist.

Now, the gap is opening wider and wider again.
