"There Will be No K-3II Sucessor, but a K-New Body of a New Line"

See what the Japanese Pentax insider Tanaka says:

(Google translated to English)

What we shall get is a K-3II based body with new sensor, new image processor, camera menu and much improved image quality as a result. No new feature of any is mentioned, though, e.g. the guessed new-type hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder.

So sad that one year lapsed but there is no progress of any.
Then that camera project idea may have been cancelled, given that we see no progress since one year. Maybe it didn't survive a critical business plan review by Ricoh top management then. It happens all the time in all industries, that projects get cancelled for whatever reasons, after some initial feasability study, prototyping, updated financial return-on-investment estimations, or whatever.
