Two official announcements have been out at the Pentax Japanese website:-

It is stated in the above first announment that now Hoya has 90.58% of voting rights of the company Pentax, that is, Hoya is the largest and major shareholder who holds even much more than 50% of the stakes of the compnay and Hoya is also called as "our parent company" in the announment by Pentax. With such a large percentage of stakes owned by Hoya, Pentax is virtually so close to a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoya now.
Besides, in the second announment, it is told that two new directors are appointed for Pentax by Hoya, both are senior officials from the Hoya company and of course this has been agreed and approved in the shareholders' meeting without any problem.
So, let's wait and see how the company will become and see if the Pentax camera system will become ever stronger under the big umbrella or just to be aborted (by Hoya) in the end.

So what. If anyone will be aborted will be you.
ReplyDeleteYou are an abort anyway!
Hoya taking over Pentax is so big thing, that actual outcome we will see only after, atleast, full year. So for now I just whait and hope for next great DSLR form Pentax. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Rice thanks for Your posts - they realy helps me to folow all this Pentax <-> Hoya story.
You are welcome, ilmars. And, I am also awaiting (much :-)) for the next generation Pentax DSLRs which hopefully should have better and improved performance and accuracy. What I really want to see is a true high-end up-market to professional DSLR model from Pentax - Well, I'll be really happy if it can come true in 2008.
ReplyDeleteThat
ReplyDeleteBut at least YOU are still here. Oh, really thank you so much! LOL..
ReplyDeleteDid I miss something??? Rice you state:.......................
ReplyDeleteBesides, I have also found another fair and comprehensive overview by another new DA* 16-50 user here. Actually, he also "coincidently" notes about the underexposure problem too with his DA* on the K10D.........................
BUT when I go to the thread YOU draw your conclusion from I read:
................
The DA*16-50/2.8 seems to deliver images similar to the DA16-45/4. Not in terms of sharpness of so, but in terms of exposure. I guess the 16mm wide angle is mostly responsible for that. I fear the threads about underexposure with this lens will be coming soon... Though those who came to appreciate the DA16-45/4 know this is a very relative thing, some Ev compensation at the wide end may be required in certain situations.
.......................
THERE is more than one way to read into this....Gad more tabloid journalism from you... makes me want to puke...
So, there exists underexposure and +EV compensations are required. What did you still miss here?
