The IQ is not bad IMO. But wait, a K-s2? APS-C, not FF?? ;-D Do note the aperture values also.

Not that edge to edge performance is critical on a zoom range like 150-450, but still I can't help but notice in the landscape shot at F8 that the left is sharper than the right. I don't think they pixel peep all that hard when they post these examples. The flower shot has some strangeness going on with it too, but its hard to say where things are falling in the plane of focus on the right. Its quite possible nothing is actually in focus there. What's up with the lower right corner on the landscape though? The 70-200 looks pretty good really., but also not much to really judge from. I guess we will have to wait for actual reviews now. The MTF curves on the 150-450 looks really good though. Bad copy here?

I do not see any difference in sharpeness. The lower right corner on the landscape is just a defocus of a tree closer enough to be defocused. The roofs behind the tree on the right are the same as roofs on the left corner.
The 150-450 ones have been sharpened in PP quite a bit, so it's hard to tell the actual sharpness...
What I am disgusted with is their commercial commitment. They say they are happy that some of their users were patient to wait for a full frame. This means they are late for a full frame! Do not take me wrong. I do not care about any format, either full frame or APS-C. Their [I mean, Ricoh] only ideal is money. This is morally wrong and is bound to collapse some day. This was my last comment on any photography forum. From now on, I am intent on photography, not on making empty comemnts. BY! Foton

Every company has to make profit, otherwise it would bankrupt. I (as a Pentax user) am interested in Ricoh being focused on making money. If they wouldn't be able to make money, they wouldn't be able to spend money on making better products. There is nothing morally wrong in making money! I have to earn money to support my family. This is the same for all Ricoh employees! Ricoh has to make money to be able to pay salaries for their employees. Actually it would be very irresponsible for any company not to focus on making profit!
I don't understand this reaction. I hope the lenses (paid with our money related to the profits realized by our employers because of our hard work) are good enough for their high prices...In case of bad quality (image / AF-speed) it is not positive for Ricoh/Pentax. This will be a serious testcase for the future.

To me edge to edge sharpness is of great importance with a lens (150-450) at this price point, I wouldn't want to be sold down the river by the "the subject is generally in the center of the image" type of talk. There's a veil of mist in the right hand side of the image which to me is responsible for the slight apparent softness!

Atmospheric disturbance is likely the culprit here I think. You are probably right.
