The colours look a bit cold indeed.

In those photos, FA77 looks bad, FA43 good, FA31 just average. LTD prices just went down IMO.

New f2.8 zooms looks awesome however.

Would be helpful if you backed up your blurb by some objective observation... Yes I know it's absurd...

It was a bit harsh, but the photos aren't great. Be honest, if you saw those and no other photos, would you say "I have to buy that lens"? Not me.

The purple fringing on the FA77 is atrocious compared to modern lenses. Do you really want to spend your time in post-processing getting rid of that?

Hopefully we will see better performance out of these lenses with the 36M sensor.
Recentelijk I bought "plastic fantastic" SMC DA 35 2.4 and SMC DA 50 1.8 ......
INCREDIBLE SHARP (with K5IIS)!!!
No purple fringing, no problems with plastic K-Mount.
For these lenses together (approx. € 350) you can't buy classic LTD.
However, the old LTD's are very nice lenses. I assume in our normal K1 practice they will give good results. I. don't own them, however I would ........ But it is a huge investment.
I can't imagine that HD 2.8 24-70 is not a sharp lens in practice.
I agree on the 77, I have myself written a couple of times that this is the big disappointment of the FA limiteds.
Maybe you have got a bad copy. The FA77 indeed produce images that are having higher fidelity than the DA70 no matter how. I have both so I should not be biased. :-)
I thought so too, and sent my FA77 to the only Pentax-authorized service center in Germany. I even spoke on the phone to the guy who had checked my lens. He explained to me that my lens performed within specs, the purple fringing I complained about was typical for that lens. Unfortunately I cannot attach pictures here otherwise I'd show you a direct comparison DA70 vs. FA77. BTW, I also suspect that the 77 is actually 80 or longer, looking at the narrow angle of view. Your statement that the 77 is a small 85 points into the same direction.
I have all the three Limiteds and I like them all. The FA77 is just a minimised FA85 optically, which I also have.
VERY NICE!
Can't access the page with the samples! So annoying! anyone got a different link?
