Who is quick?
And why you are so sad, or disappointed?
Rice check out this K-1 video in Thailand. It's in Chinese but there's English subtitles for the conversations.

Thanks for the constructive comment!
It is not a comment, it is a question asked to you!

I don't know. It was a question also. Looks like April 25th release date was wrong.

In other news, record numbers of forum users have bad backs! At least that's their latest excuse not to buy.

out of stock at amazon at 9am?! Should have pre-ordered? Oh well, now I'm more likely to wait for the price drop and/or next generation with the 4k video. Why stock so little?

Ahem. Because you don't get one of the first K-1 in your country, you are likely to decide to wait for another product generation. I'm sure that to you, that makes sense...
I'm gonna get my K-1 TOMORROW. Oh boy oh boy oh boy...
One happy camper here...

sad, can't get K1 in US yet from any retailer!? Other places have the K1 already! This stinks.

Why do you expect to have it in the US before "other places"? I'll just say: US customs.

And this is a camera. Imagine a medical product, such as an implant. Your gov protects you from all the good things abroad....
Well I DID get mine today. And after a little playing around, I am VERY positively impressed.

By the way, I almost could not believe it: the DA-Limiteds DA35 macro, DA40 and DA70 seem to work on FF without any flaws, and even wide open. Vignetting may be there but is absolutely not prohibitive (plus, the camera can correct for it). Dark corners do show up for the DA21 and DA15, but that was expected.

There are many things to like about this camera. I would like to stress
* ergonomics (menus, back screen, how it feels in the hand, weight)
* sound (much lower noise with screw-drive lenses compared to the K-3, and the sound of the mirror flap is "high end")
* picture quality (ok, that was expected)
* viewfinder features
* overall, an incredible package and a huge number of improvements over the already cool K-3

It is neither too big nor too heavy for my taste.

well, is it worth it? Somehow the delays have put a bad taste in my mouth. It isn't so special anymore because others have them well in advance.

Maybe wait for the price drops now? IMO, they really messed up the launch at least in one of the largest markets.

I'll delay my decision until I hear your feedback. As a long time reader here, I know you won't sugar coat the camera. If you say the AF is amazing, the IQ beautiful and the quality excellent, I'll purchase it still. Otherwise, 1800 goes a long ways and I can wait...
AF is not really that fast but the in-built motor is quiet and most importantly now the AF is highly accurate. The IQ is good I think but my 645D tastes better for the colour rendition. It isn't really very expensive I think but of course you should decide. I will show sample photos per lens of mine later, if time allows.
Regarding color rendition: Petapixel have lens shoot-out for the fullframe 24-70 from Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Pentax. That shoot-out gives us another reminder, that the Pentax zoom is the 24-70 Tamron zoom. From that we can deduct, that the color rendition resembles Tamron's glasses' color rendition in the end.

By the way, also interesting: The bokeh of the Pentax was so horribly onion-rendered, that everyone serious about photography would have to deem it seriously flawed (if not useless?) for any bokeh-sensitive shots (esp. nightly highlights). This property also reminds us, that the Pentax is actually the Tamron zoom, just in a different hull and with a different price tag of course ;)
No where near as bad as the onion rings from the Sony Zeiss 35/1.4 ZA. Mine is awful and that's a lens that should have smooth bokeh.

You are right! I couldn't wait. I hate the advance-order game so waited until it was in stock at one of the online places. Got it with overnight shipping. It will arrive tomorrow! I'll even have it before some of the advance-order people!!
