[Fanboyism] Pentax History and Cameras 1952-2017 (Official)

Amongst the above, I bought 15 models over years.

So, for my 15 Pentax interchangeable-lens bodies, they can be further categorised as follows:

- 4 Film and 11 Digital
- 2 Medium Format, 4 135 Full Frame, 8 APS-C, 1 Tiny Sensor Format
- 14 Reflex and 1 Mirrorless
- 1 Silver, 1 Oliver, 1 Blue, 1 Gold and 1 White, all Others are Black in Colour
- 10 models can take AA batteries, 4 with adaptors or with grips (which were bought separately at high prices)
- Total cost of these cameras when bought new was huge, present value is minimal! :-(

After all, I must admit that I am a true Pentax fanboy, who bought and supported the brand blindly, over decades! :-((

Hmmmm .....
KP (= K3 / K-70 / K1) just to match with limited lenses, hmmmm....
Big and heavy DFA 50 and DFA 85, hmmmm.....

For compact mirrorless APS-C system, go for the EOS M, which is cheap for lenses and of high performance, i.e. the M5.
THX, I'm going to investigate.
THe new lenses, all 1.4 and 35/50/85mm are what many people craved. They supplement the FA limited series, each their own. No need for negativism

People wanted big lenses with excellent lab results, so just let it be.
I see no "big" telephoto lenses on the roadmap ....
I don't want to be negative after 33 years working with PENTAX, however I am unable to find a suitable 28mm prime lens .... DFA 24-70 2.8 is big/heavy and DFA 28-105 is not my preference.
My FA28 works well for me. :-)
And, the FA31 might be even better. ;-D
31 is not wide enough, not everyone is blessed with such a beautiful classic 28mm, congratulations! For me: I am wating for it, waiting and waiting and waiting ....
I bought my FA28 first hand many years ago. Actually, it has vignetting like that of the DAL35 and DA55 produce at wide apertures on FF, if the digital lens correction is disabled. No optic is perfect and perfect glass maybe huge, which is not perfect again in portability.
OK THX for this lesson!
You can simply buy an FA 28/2.8 that is really cheap, around 200 €/$ on ebay. It might not be the definitive 20 mm of your life, because it is a simple f/2.8 and it doesn't have the best AF or design in the world, but it's a really good lens, even without considering the price. You can safely buy used, there's not a lot of electronics that can break down, if there is at all! If you cal live with manual focus you can go with the M 28/3.5, which from my tests is optically at least as good as the FA 28/2.8, or in alternative the older K 28/3.5 that should be even better (or even the screw mount takumar, that should have the same optical design).
The 28 mm is one of my most used focal lengths, as I use it as my "normal" lens, and if pentax makes a new 28-24, maybe a small, well built and sharp limited I will surely buy it for my K-1!
THX for your reaction! May be you are right. And I apologize, perhaps we should be grateful with what Pentax now manufactures! They have to make choices. Some want big and others want more compact. I just need a "simple" / not heavy / good 28mm prime as a (indeed) "normal" lens (to photograph archaeological objects). Whow .... a 28-40 Limited would be perfect.
Rice, where are you, no comments for quite a while. come back
