Yep, this simple picture demonstrates quite well, what goes wrong currently. Once upon a time, Pentax was valued for distinctively compact and lightweight gear, in particular lenses. This was their brand identification. Before Hoya doubled prices, lenses were also nicely affordable. But later, some idiots must have thought "hey, Sigma ART and Sony GM do bulky overweight monsters. Then, let's do some as well. Tokina, shall we team up?". Pentax/Ricoh don't comprehend, that now the trend goes away from monstrosity, everywhere. Ricoh run behind an old trend, where they could have owned a new trend.
