Awesome stuff!!! DP has it on line as well, great reading - plenty parts from K-7 (VERY SMART WAY TO KEEP THE PRICE WHERE THEY WANT IT)...

ARE YOU GETTING ONE??? LOL

Nope. Its just too big and heavy and exceeds my need for the extra pixel count too. A K-mount Full Frame Pentax DSLR would be the REAL thing for me! (IF there will be one!)
Who gives a damn what is the best thing to fill out YOUR needs! God... Think out of the box man : /
And i think this is enough for pentax pro segment today. I really don't need it.. really really don't need it but when looking at it and reading i'm beging to want it and thats exactlly how a pro market product works for the masses. And i really don't see the reason why any amatour would ever want to take a 1,4 kg body without a lens so probably a 7 kg setup only for photography - only for a diehard ( 3 kg for a tripod and 4 for the camera and lenses ).

Ps. there are downsized samples in the japan website of the 645D
Ps. So i have a new mantra, i don't want a 645D:P

What are you using? Seems way heavy for 2010 (even -1 to 2years).

M.frotto190cxpro3+486rc2 w/QR plate=1700g, 645D=1480g (battery/cards included), lens+hood 416g

Total 3.7kg (or less than 8 pounds) for EVERYTHING. That would be excellent for FF gear, but this is MF!
If you ever tried LF, this kind of "lugging" would be like a walk in the park :o) ...

Now, where do I get $10K... have to start that LOTO like RH!
I diden't knew that modern tripods are so light;) anyway that gives ( with an extra lens ) about 4 kg which is quite impresing for this setup.. must start to look for an old 645.. or maybe kiev to start..

A fly looks at an elephant and says: its good that you exist. The elephant thinks: a fly advertises me...
It seems like the biggest disadvantage of this camera and the lens is that the lens does not have leaf shutter (as far as I read it carefully). If the sync speed of this camera is 1/125, who will be interested in it considering the price level?? Correct me if I am wrong..

Daniel, you are not wrong from your point of view, you would just re-learn how to use this "somewhat hybrid" of MF and FF. Looks like a great (dare to say PRO) tool for weddings, horse show and some... No synch from 1 to 1/500 like the LF..

KentR published his comments on 645D and rattles his likes-and-dislikes and sounds VERY "aged" with untrue statements - "645D has Live View (WHAT? - CCD with LV? Where is that button?), picture modes (WHAT? - tone modes are now picture/scene modes???), technology options what speed things up BUT can be turned off if desired and low temp/WR seals are stupid???

Maybe he is great with Canikon and LF gear, but it appears he made a bunch of silly statements on new 645D.

One point he raised struck me as well; today's shutter made for 50.000 actuations seem low longevity indeed....
