Pentax K-01 Samples - A Flickr Set

Many of which were made with the new 40mm XS lens. View and judge yourself on the IQ and characteristics. Colour saturation seems a bit too high to my like and maybe this is the root cause of the colour cast in many of the K-01 photos that I've seen so far. Large images are available but they are yet not full sized.

Color are a bit saturated indeed, but this isn't shocking.
Maybe Pentax increased default saturation a bit in Jpeg engine. Because i have to say that on K-x the defalut saturation is not very ... saturated !

For i've read so far on PF, the DA XS seems to render exactly like the DA 40. So i would do the guess that the K-01 is responsible for the sat.

Hi, there's a full review already out on the net ,read it yesterday! It states categorically that the image quality is identical to the K5 images in RAW which used in conjunction with this test.. Repeat "the same"

The "colour cast" mentioned is, I suspect, due to having the Custom Image mode set to Bright not Natural.
