I bought a Pentax K-5IIS and kept my Pentax K-5, they say there's not much differance with the Pentax K-5II but I like having the moire filter on my back-up and if you want to keep your (K- Mount) lenses, one of each is the way to go. For video the K-5 is 1080p, 720p, 480p @ 25fps, the K-5II & K-5IIS will do 1080p @ 25fps and 720p & 480p @ 30fps as well.

...well, my pinhole don't do that... on the other hand, they are just a box with a hole.
What's really disgusting is your joy of spitting on Pentax. Quality control issues are a bad thing, but if the manufacturer is keen to repair/change/update their cameras, then I do not see a problem. Had the K-3 for testing, no problem at all for the whole time...
Go Ricoh!

Wow, even if that bug is fixed in firmware I would never buy that specific body on the used market. The shutter count must be up to 20k! Haha!

All of you who spit on Ricoh, if you wait for buying a camera without ANY issue reported, you might wait for a very long time! And even the best QC won't prevent such failures. If you can't accept that, don't buy anything because your car, your TV or your MAC have the same risk of failure... :-/
This page and pentax forums was the first I've heard of this. I've had some users report lockups with grips, but other than that no real problems until now. I get the feeling that there is a production run that has a faulty component that seems to be rearing is head after some use. I would gladly buy a K-3, because I'm sure if something is wrong with it, Pentax would fix it. Mirror flop is a sign of a component failure. It indicates the system is resetting. That's why so many issues on the K-r, K-5 result in a mirror flop. The lady that sent her camera back probably got another one out of the same batch. Just a hunch. Compare to the D600 where nearly every camera is affected by oil on the sensor.
I have a K-10D, K-7, K-5, and K-3. Only one of these cameras ever had a failure, and that was the orientation sensor of the K-10D - it failed after the camera sustained a 1,30m drop to a stone floor. In that event, the front filter broke, but everything else on that camera continued to work just fine. Image quality was not (visibly) affected (even when pixel peeping). I bought the K-10D in Europe on the internet, the K-7 in a European shop, the K-5 used from a Pentax sales guy, and the K-3 in a Chinese shop.

I have had this exact same issue happen to my K3. Only once. I was not doing a time laps, just regular shooting.
