IR's Interview with Ricoh Japanse Official of Product Planning

http://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2014/03/14/ricoh-qa-ricoh-tech-into-pentax-cameras-whither-pentax-full-frame

Old sales talks as usual and there is nothing new. Of course there is no exciting news of any at all. Things have become boring and even more boring, as time goes by! >:(

This guys are still workin' on, you know.
Thaks Rice. Nice interview. Inteterstuing to know more about backstage of technology development, instead of boring questions about FF.

As usual they give us little or no information, however I see they made good use of the opertunity to pat themselves on the back. Thank's for the heads up on the D-645II, I still don't think it's for pros but it's great for enthusiast.
This just indicates that Pentax is going out with a wimper rather than going out with BANG. Thanks for sharing the interview.
This interview is an act of building and maintaining customer relationship. Entertaining and moderately educative, no more and no less.

It is impossible to draw conclusions like "Pentax will die" or "Pentax will win" from an interview, mind you! Anyone who makes statements like that is grossly exaggerating or badly misguided.

Did you expect being told any "secrets"? Then ask yourself: what would you be saying now, had the interviewee accidentally broken any secrets?

If I was working for Pentax/Ricoh, I'd feel good with this piece of professional PR.
It is hardly an "interview"; a conversation in which an interviewer talks 70% of the time and an interviewee merely 30%, mostly laconically.
It is nothing but a desperate battle for some conversation and convoluted search for subjects in order to please readers — and justify enormous cost of travel to Japan. Kudos to Imaging Resource though, very tough job. If it weren’t for nerdish technical questions about AA frequencies et cetera, the “interview” would be author’s monologue.
I'm really glad to left Pentax for a sony A7.....There will never FF in Ricoh Pentax, just a big APSC Camera not better than a simple hyrbide but without screen orientation.
The K mount died day by day....

What do you expect?! "Yes, we are planning to go out with fullframe exactly three and a half month from now, but donť tell anybody." Or what? How long before does the Canikon give informations about planned cameres? And if you think "why does the Pentax wait that long with a FF", you can as well ask "why does Canikon wait that long with a medium format":-D

If you are a REAL pro get the proper tool, a 645D(II), Hasselblad, Phase 1 or any MF camera.
If you want convince your self, and people around you, that you are a pro, cry for a FF K mount or run to get those new worthless crippled CaNikonSon.

Ricoh is really falling down on the job. I don't care what Pentax fans think anymore. You would have to be pretty delusional not to see that Pentax is just recycling old ideas and treading water. Pentax WAS great! Now I lose money on my investment.
Canon and Nikon aren't that exciting any more to the enthusiast, Pentax a little more so perhaps but the two really coming out with interesting lines are now Olympus and Fujifilm.

M4/3, APS-C or FF doesn't seem to matter so much as system quality and innovation as well as marketing. Fuji and Oly are winning right now with crop and 4/3rds, respectively.

Full Frame is the Canikon version of Blu Ray - a con job to get people to upgrade for no reason. These are dinosaur companies ready to be out-evolved by nimble companies like Pentax. You can have your own opinions but you don't get to have your own facts.

Fact: Pentax SLR lenses are considered to be industry leading legends.
Fact: APSC is the leading sensor format
