How Come an Announcement Will be Made on February 18 of 2018?

Which is a Sunday. This is just a joke, Asahiman!

Did you actually mean 2019? ;-P

About the possibly forthcoming FDA*85mm/f1.4 lens, I have a few suggestions.

1.The lens maximum aperture should be designed to f/1.2, without changing the present optical formula. The quality/definition of the image may be reduced at f/1.2, which is not that important for portraiture, but the bokah would be better, which would be very desirable for portraiture. In fact the reduced quality/definition may be even more desirable for portraiture. If someone does not like it, well use f/1.4.

2.The lens should also be able to render soft focus images by selecting the desired effect by rotating a ring, as was provided in the previous Pentax lenses.

3.The lens may be designed as the macro lens. Therefore, all of the above properties would be available in the macro mode also.

4.With these innovations the lens may be a little costly, but would be the only lens available in the world. May be two versions of the lens may be made, one the less costly simple version, as planned; and the other the professional version, as discussed above.
!t can be any day in February :-) dd mm yy

And it is still the same sensor with same AF module. Ricoh is a lazy company
Why February 18th? All I see February 2018. Only in USA people use the (rather ilogic IMO) mm dd yy format. And as far as I remember Ricoh is a japanese company.

Ricehigh, do you still own a K-1? If so, are you planning to upgrade its motherboard to a K-1 II?
