New K3? New K1?
no new k-3
mayby a new kp.
the cap between a new k-3 III and a k-1
must be bigger
So, Pentax is giving up on covering the medium class APSC segment.
There are only lower class bodys left.

The KP for example cannot be taken serious, as it was quite a downgrade from the K-3.

Let's remember briefly how low the KP is positioned:
- Its RAW buffer is useless 8 RAWs small.
- The shutter downgraded from 8.3/s to 7, the life expectancy went down from 200 to 100k.
- No top shoulder display any longer,
- slower USB (2.0 not 3.0),
- only one card slot (where the K-3 had two),
- no GPS built in any longer,
- body structure more plastic rather than metal,
- and battery life only ~420 shots rather than ~720.

Good by, Pentax APCS. Rest in peace.

I diisagree, the KP is a superb camera 👍
I bought the KP which is a very nice body. ;-)
I bought the KP (black) body also, I like it very much!

I'll say this: the KP is a nice camera that I kind of want but I would much rather put good money towards a K-3 replacement. I have no real issues with it if I look at it as a nicer K-70. There's no way I could replace a K-3 with one I don't think though. Not with the louder shutter, 1/6000 max, slower framerate, and anemic buffer. Its just not comparable on some levels. Pretty sure the shutter life is a lot less than the K-3's impressive 250k. I have a K-5 IIs and its approaching 100k and I really wish it had another 100k in it, but I don't think it does. it still definitely keeps trucking. i love that camera and will just buy another when it dies since they are getting kind of cheap used.
