SDM Still Sucks!

Seven years lapsed since the first SDM lens was born. However, the complaints from SDM users never ended and the brand name suffers. Well, is it really so difficult to cure such a design problem? Oh really?? >:-(

Unfortunately, thoze were 7 yearz of hell for Pentax. First a total torture by Hoya, then slow integration by Ricoh. No other camera company suffered similar fate. The SDM replacement technology is coming this Fotokina, I assure you. All DA* lensez will be updated at once — new motors, new lens coating, some with updated desingz too. And a 70-210/2.8 for FF will join the new DA* range.

I remember last time I learnt the K-3 real specs earlier than you and posted in my Blog, Mike! :-P

So, if you have really true insider info, please send me by email, then I will believe you! Lol.. :-D

You had K-3 specz, I had lenz specs you did not have. That iz all fine.
Where's the 16-80/2.8 or whatever you claimed to be coming? The LTD is not the same lens that you claimed would be here. I think you are all hot air. You have yet to prove me wrong.
Not hell really. Hoya was the white knight of Pentax otherwise the brand was death years ago. And ditto for Ricoh to save Pentax the camera division. However, the worst thing Ricoh did with Pentax is they are trying to eliminate the name Pentax and replace it with Ricoh of their own. In fact, as a stupid die-hard Pentax fanboy myself (agree it or not), I am not going to buy the K-3 just because of the it's so disguisting Ricoh logo that is printed on the back below the LCD, the problem is just as simple as that! :-P

I agree with you that Ricoh has behaved clumzily. They are not experienced as a retail, end-uzer company. They were alwayz businezz-to-businezz oriented. They had a lot to learn and their marketing skills were not fit for sentimental and emotional uzer’s expectations of this market.
But I think they learned something in the last year. See the new video for the 645Z (you posted) — it iz about Pentax name and heritage! It glowz in silver all the way! They go that far now *not* to include “Ricoh” on the back LCD panel of the 645Z.
I think they have finally got it, and have also rezerved the spot for several new Pentax-branded compacts, plus the FF coming this fall. See more during the Fotokina.
What about all that -z's in your postz? Iz thiz some kind of insider joke?

By the way, Rice, youshould really buy a K-3. It must be pretty hard to bitch around about a piece of equipment you don't actually own.

I bet I bought and own more Pentax bodies and lenses than you, what Pentax or now Ricoh products do you have?
The amount of gear you bought will not change the fact that, whatever you post about the current Pentax flagship, you won't be able to verify it. Since Ricoh will not rename themselves to Pentax, I guess you won't buy any future Pentax gear any more. Therefore you're slowly turning from an (arguably) valuable source of information to somene that's basically only re-posting other people's rants.
You are wrong. The new "Pentax" 645Z does not carry a Ricoh logo neither in the front and on the back. Ricoh guys seem to have learnt a lesson, already. For a small brand like Pentax, the stupid brand loyalty should not be ignored!
At least you agree it's stupid ;)
But it exists everywhere! :D
