Secret New Lens Lineup in K-mount?

The K-mount lens roadmap has silently been updated the day before:

http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/japan/products/lens/images/K_Mount_Lens.pdf

It can be seen a new 70-200mm (roughly) Star lens in an unknown line newly appears. It is not a DA* lens because if it is a DA* its name should have been shown as the names of the other new DA lenses that are already shown there.

However, this might be another vapour or paper-ware that we need to wait for another year as it is the thing that we would see in 2014 or later. And, it does not even have the very basic information of the lens including its exact focal range and aperture. And, is it yet an APS-C lens or in 135 Full Frame? Shall we know? But When?

Seriously, didn't you know? The DA* line is being replaced by a new "*" line of lenses with HD coating and DC AF.

"21.6... mm is the radius required to enclose a 24 x 36 mm2 rectangle. No discussion needed. This is FF."
And it definitely is very old news.

This K-mount Lens Road Map has been ion the Ricoh (Pentax) site for the last three and a half months. My copy of it was downloaded on 7 February 2014.

The changes show that future lenses will be HD Pentax rather than SMC Pentax because their focal length range is now in red and not green.

The * lens couple weel be a full-frame 70 to 200 mm lens. Only time will tell.

Regards

This is old news: February 6th, 2014.

The * (star) Tele Zoom seems to be 70-200ish. The focal length range plus the fact that it's not denominated "DA*" make it plausible this lens is a 24x36 lens.

It could even be the Pentax version of the Tokina 70-200mm f/4.
That's some kind of tease...

Over the weekend picked up a Pentax ES II (m42), Takumar 50 1.8, and Takumar 135 3.5 (with original case and hood) + flash and manuals for 10 bucks at the junk shop (fie on you eBay and your high prices). The lenses are super nice condition, the camera good/good - (need to get some new button batteries to try it - had a bunch of cheap Chinese ones still in package and they were starting to leak after only like a year [good thing they weren't in a camera]).
I guess my bigger thought with this is the FA 50mm 1.4 has not been listed. Or that there will be a 100-400 zoom.....

Its simple - the 70-200 is the return of the FA-Star line, although my guess is it will be something like HD-F* That, along with HD coatings on the FA Limited lenses, and a rebranding of the DA* lenses that will fit on the full-frame, will give them nearly a sufficient start. If they slapped an FA on it, everyone would jump to the conclusion that the FF is coming...

They are only then missing the 28-70, provided the 55 1.4 fits a FF sensor.....
This has been discussed elsewhere so why not here? I can't remember a time when things were as boring and stagnant in Pentaxland than they are right now. Thank you Ricoh for being the most dull camera company ever. What's Ricoh doing right now? This is the only hint!? Ricoh: the inventor of snoozeware!

Have we ever had a 1:1 comparison of the new HD coatings to offerings from other manufacturers? There was an interesting comparison of one of the new Sigma lenses on a DP review thread to a competing (but more expensive) lens of exactly the same focal length coming from an OEM whose name begins with the letter N. There were some clear differences and I was wondering if any kind soul might do the same here.

There were a couple, but I don't think any of them have a whole lot of merit as they weren't done by the normal "test houses." Here is what a quick search of this site came up with:

I believe there was more than this posted on this site, I just can't think of them off hand at the moment.
