You should price the other MF offerings. The z is dirt cheap.

And if, one lucky day, Pentax does EVERYTHING right, and is even way cheaper than the competition (MF), then Rice compares to the next lower segment (FF) and complains about the price.

Rice, admit it: Pentax has no chance of ever getting an applause from you.

I agree great IQ.
As far as cost I do not consider the 645z to be a consumer camera and when compared to the competition it is cheap. When compared to the cost of a consumer FF the 645 is very expensive so it depends on how you look at it.
The question is will they bleed the technology of the 645 down to a FF that ........... Pentax has had under development for the last decade.

rumoured to be released Sony A7r II. 46MP with 5 axis IBIS. The Zeiss lenses are designed for this kind of high resolution sensors; that is if anybody has doubts about lens to high density sensor image quality. Why spend $13k, $8k camera + $5k lenses when you can have the same IQ for much less. With the 5 Axis IBIS, you can pretty much do away the tripod for most shots.That is right, hand held shots of the Sony A7r II will not be that different from the 645Z. Remember that Pentax motto, small camera and a bag full of primes! It doesn't seem that Pentax practices what it preaches. But certainly it's today's Sony motto.

New cam at CES has built in wifi and mic input and new collapsing lens has WR and DC. I doubt it has touchscreen so it is basically a smaller 5300 with wr. The lens looks shorter than the collapsing Nikon version. It would great if the video sr is improved even better if it also had pdaf on sensor for video af tracking. Doubt it though,Sony is keeping it to themselves for now. I wish Pentax would use the new Samsung sensor that is in the NX1.

I completely agree with you Chris. Rice doesn't look at what good things does pentax provides. Take the Nikon D600 Dust Sensor issue, did Nikon acknowledged the issue and recalled it? NO. Does it treats its own customers fairly? NO. Lot of nikon owners simply moved out of this D600 issue.
When you compare to other name brands, Pentax is far better. For the price that you pay, Pentax always does the justification and the value is excellent. Even am a Nikon user for more than 10 years, but moved completely out of it and got into Pentax. I really love Pentax.

Hey Rice, the new Pentax camera has a big Pentax logo on the back and the new lens has a green band, at least in the prototypes. Waiting to see how you report the good news.
