As a photographer I was close to give-up Pentax because of incompleteness of the system, but new lenses, new line-up of cameras including FF body led me to change my mind. The IQ is priority and Pentax can offer very good one since K-5 was introduced. As a filmmaker I am using proper equipment from Panasonic and JVC and if for some reasons I will be forced to work with DSLR only it will be Panaosonic or Canon.
Well, of course one can do great movie using Pentax DSLR, even on very pro level. Camera on tripod, pre-selected points of focusing, prime lenses or zooms with particular FL selected and you can do documentary for BBC using K-3 in manual mode. And all the SR's are not important in such case...
