Wild Rumour: New Low End DAL 35mm Prime and K-7 Replacement

http://forum.xitek.com/showthread.php?threadid=744407
(in Simplified Chinese, English Translation Here)

What's up then? A cheap low-end DAL 35mm prime, which is supposed to compete with Nikon's DX 35/1.8? The K-7 replacement is going to be built on the same body chassis and will still use Samsung sensor.. (but is it really wise for Pentax to do so if it is true?)

So, it is claim that the source is reliable and it is leaked from the Beijing dealers. Whilst I do have some doubts on what are told, I recall that those Chinese and Russian sources did usually give us real leaks in the past.

I have a Pentax K-m, and I'd like this 35mm Low End. It's because I cannot afford some more exprensive, but I'll wait till one of us Pentaxian (maybe you?) has tested it.

BTW: where do you come from? I'm from Italy.

That's quite interesting and intriguing (like viewing soap opera :)
cheep 35 is what we need :)
book me for one
and about sensors, do You really believe that Samsung is incapable to make better sensor than Sony
k20 sensor was, I belive , first samsung dslr sensor, and was good in that time, Sony pass couple generations and Samsung with first generation come close, and this will be second and should be on pair, with third they should wipe floor with Sony
Samsung is working on a new high-end APS-C sensor. Same Mp as the current one, but with ADC and NR on-sensor. Rumoured to be capable of 10 fps and 1080 HD video. For high-end NX camera that comes later this year. Could be used by Pentax too.
I think that a cheap 35mm is a very good idea. I hope they'll release two camera's this year that will not be entry level, but that's just my hope.
o my god...... and no FF ???

I guess they would have a FF body later this year or early next year, as far as I've heard..
that sounds too good to be true, unless you have very good sources. :-)
I also don't believe myself, but there are different sources telling that a Pentax Full Frame is underway. Well, its time for the old saying that is always true: Time will tell!
Interesting post. Thanks.

Pentax certainly need a low-cost fast 35.

I would also argue that they need a versatile 15-85 type lens. The more compact the better...
