Will There Be a K-02? (Poll)

Above is an imagined/PSed diagram by someone for a K-02, with the new short back focus 18-70 kit lens. The PS job was either done by someone who had nothing better to do or officially! ;-D To compare the original K-01 diagram, click here.

I think the K-01 was an experiment, but the expirement was not that successfull (sellings-wide) as intended - otherwise the production would have continued longer.
maybe they will do another mirrorless, but the design will be more conservative or at least very different.

I must add that it shows that more news and review sites are reading this page than you might think. I sure can't wait for the next "Pentax is DOOOOMED" post LOL.

Here's an off topic thought: I very much think that another mirrorless camera will inevitably resurface with kmount compatibility and backfocus lenses that take advantage of the mirrorless box. Either that or a mirrorless camera with smaller lenses and a much shorter flange distance with a nice k-mount adapter/tube. I don't think Pentax would be silly enough to give up on the largest growing market in photography.

it was not successful because of the missing evf, look, and no special lenses...
If they release a k-02 with the mx-1 style, a decent built-in evf and some new short back focus bright primes rest assured that it will sell well

The problem was the price and the price alone. It was crazy expensive.

Yes, if the price tag wasn't set too high, K-01 would sell good. I don't mind with no evf and the look.
My expectation for the K-02 is faster AF, tilt screen and wifi.

Hello

I hope ther will be a K02 - because that would increase the propability of special mirrorless lens
I have my K01 now for 2 weeks and kile it very much.

I have written pentax many times stating that the k-01 concept should not be abandoned, but rather evolved further. Time will tell, but they have to realize they need mirrorless options outside of the Q.

Pentax should embed the Metabones speed booster adapter to K-02 (as a built-in elements with full AF support for K-mount lens), it should be perfectly do-able for its size, with SMC coating for the elements of course. Then, it will solve the FF issues almost completely, and the cost of K-01 plus the adapter is substantially lower than any FF on the street.
