Here's a great review : http://youtu.be/4oT-fnHHTFs
Wow, can I do this with my K-e and 20-40 WR Lens?
The sand test is a joke - it's way too coarse. A good test (which I experience myself) is to test with the super fine dust of a dried salt like (in my case: in the black rock desert, nothern Nevada). That's super fine, (alcaline) corrosive and sticky, and it's everywhere in the air, even. Your hair gets sticky from it after a while. I had the camera (K-20D with DA* 16-50) standing in the hot sun for several days, taking time lapse pictures. No problem, the lens is still pristine, and the camera only got some of the sand into its view finder, though the slider for the the eyepiece. I could shake that out again. Not other "damage".

Kivis - the WR lenses are not as well sealed as the DA* ones - I'd be careful with those under running water, and not zoom while it's wet.

Nice rant, but the 20-40 is a DA Limited WR lens. Should be good for something.
