New K-3 and 645Z Firmwares Coming

See: http://digicame-info.com/2014/06/k-3-12.html

The above page is in Japanese, Google translation into English can be found here.

In short, new firmwares will offer new software function on "diffraction elimination", like which already implemented by the Fuji for their latest X-series bodies, In addition, the effect of the so-called "occasional" K-3 mirror-flapping issue is minimised, for what is told.

Excitement, thrills, surprises, unexpected innovations and dazzling technological quantum leaps Ricoh-style! (Note the number of approving comments here.) Got to get that anti-mirror flap diffraction zapping firmware for my new vibrating sensor Pentax super-camera with the big bump-a-hole in it for the fat jack on my killer headphones!

I suspect there are no other comments because, firstly, it's old news. Anyone who would be interested would likely have heard about this from other sources as early as two weeks ago. Secondly, Rice's site is becoming more and more irrelevant. Even he's not interested in bothering to update it on a regular basis...so why should the rest of us bother?
Let this post mark my final visit. See ya Ricey...
Exact! We deserve more than this current blog that spit on Ricoh/Pentax brand. I personnaly will follow Ming Thein blog which really test the cameras he speak about and make us learn useful things about photography (gear is made to take photo right?)
Bye :-)

Stevo, Catch thanks for stopping by and reading. It's not the blog that is becoming irrelevant it is Pentax that HAS become irrelevant some time ago. What Pentax site is not dwindling away at the rate of the dwindling g Pentax customer base.
Almost as irrelevant as your boring oh so predictable, un informative comments. Your have yourself done enough to turn this blog a place were no one wants to stop by unless they join your from the sidelines shouting anyone and everything down. If you feel so strongly about Pentax, why bother with it all? Your name Pentaxfools sums it up really.... go by any another brand and offer something positive or useful to contribute, but chances are you will have some retarded come back to all of this. Sadly you don't realize you are in fact irrelevant .

If you buy a Medium Format Camera you need to take care of it, unfourtunatly "You Get What You Pay For". Hopefully none of you will lose clients, but evan at $6500 Pros that use Nikon or Canon can lose their job if their only DSLR is down.

All 6 owners of the 645Z called and said they were happy to read about the update on Ricehigh's blog.
So we mow have all the 645Z owners covered
Pentax has maybe 18 months left at best. Canon 5D MkIV and 7D MkII will be out soon. D810 is a very capable machine. Canon and Nikon glass is superb. Fuji will eat up the APS-C market with the X-Trans sensors and Fujinon lenses and Sony will continue to appeal to the mainstream as well as advanced photographers.

Pentax is a dinosaur now. Sadly. But who do they appeal to these days? The K-3 is a pretty heavy sluggish noisy device (not that innovative/exciting) and the 645z out of reach for most and far too specialized.

Small fast MILC APS-C (Fuji, Sony) and high performance full frame DSLR (Canon, Nikon) is where it's at. Pentax is neither of these.

Nothing replaces a goof OVF for the majority of situations. But, I'm starting to admit that Fuji's APS-C line is the most imediate threat to Pentax's one. The XT-1 is VERY compelling camera.
It really is too, I love the 56/1.2 with the XT-1. I know Getty staff togs with full Leica kits who swear by it. It's so sad Pentax just can't seem to 'get there'.
You don't sound sad.
I have a K-5, K-5IIs and a K-3, stack load of Pentax primes including FA Limited's . . . luckily Novoflex do a great adapter for my A7r.

Got it this week and I haven't had so much fun using a camera in years. It makes you think, it makes you take photographs. Then just pure WOW! in post-processing. Considering an A7s for low light too. Got the FE 55/1.8 turning up this Thursday and using all my M42 and PK glass to full (frame) effect!

Shutter shake in the A7r is not the issue the internet has made it out to be. Manual focusing is so easy and accurate too.

Sony has my full (frame) attention. It's not just a Pentax thing, it's a size/weight thing. Never again will I buy a heavy camera.

Good times!!!
