DA50/1.8 is to be On Sales on July 20th

Expected selling price is at 20,000 Japanese Yens, which is roughly equal to US$250 and is far more expensive than those similar offers from Canon and Nikon or even Sony. Whilst it is just not as cheap and competitive undoubtedly, I think Least is yet better than None!~

Yep, it was about time for Pentax to release a lens like this. I suppose that time will put it on its expected price tag, around 175$/€, like the DA 35mm f/ 2.4. And like you say, is better to have this lens in the market even if its a bit expensive, than having none and keep asking for one. And who knows, Pentax always did splendid 50mm, this could be the best 1.8 ever made.
