New Ricoh Lens Patents (4/3 and APS-C)

http://egami.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2012-07-06
(in Japanese)

The 14mm lens is for 4/3" sized sensors, whilst the 19mm lens is for APS-C. Both are equivalent to roughly about 28mm in field of view of 135 full frame.

So, what is Ricoh planning? Are these lenses for GXR or just as the lenses for fixed focal GR new models? Who knows? Nonetheless, there is still no new 135 Full Frame lens patent of any, no matter from Pentax nor Ricoh (both of which now belong to the same camera division of Ricoh anyway).

You should notice that this patents are from 2010, even if they are released now. If Pentax is working on a Full Frame cámera or Full Frame lenses it is since Ricoh owns the company, and not even a year has passed since.

Pentax has a load of FF lens' designs. Why new FF patents? Just to "OPTIMIZE" for digi FF should do...give them a bit more time, no need for duds...
4/3" sensor or four thirds sensor? Could Ricoh be considering joining the Micro Four Thirds camp?

4/3" and four thirds refer to the same thing, they are only different naming conventions.
Interesting patent. I wonder what Ricoh is planning from these new lenses.
