I didn't believe the lack of vignetting, so I ran the DA70f2.4 wide open photo through Jeffrey's EXIF viewer.

The EXIF says photoshop, so not JPG off camera? Can anyone confirm or tell if photos are post processed?

The pictures marked with "OOC JPEG" are direct ones.

Maybe DA70 was operating in "crop" mode since it is not a DFA lens? I expected more vignetting based on my film experience with that lens. Or software is boosting corners internally in the camera?
I thought the exact same thing, but if you see the resolution it is 36 mpx, so it's not cropped!

Not just me. User abazzz says same thing about DA70.

Is there a list of DA lenses that are compatible from the manufacturer?

Please do not post the user-generated thread of full frame compatible lenses from "forums".

I'm looking for an official link, spec or statement from the manufacturer.
The picture you are looking at was shot at f/4.0. Falk Lumo has tested the DA70mm and has found that lens IS full-frame compatible starting around f/4.0:

Also Rice has posted this before: http://ricehigh.blogspot.com/2011/11/da3524-and-d...

So with less than f/4.0, you get some vignetting (that can be corrected in post) and possibly also somewhat soft corners. But it seems the DA70 is indeed very usable on FF. Which makes it very interesting because it is more compact than the FA77, has quick-shift and shows far less purple fringing than the FA77. (The FA77 is IMHO the bad guy among the three FA limiteds).

Ok if you've already bought the DA70, but f4.0 is pretty slow, IMO. Wouldn't buy it as a new lens for full frame when a good 85mm is a better choice. Sure they'll release an 85mm lens again.
The DA70 is very "thin" and weighs next to nothing! ;-)
There is a picture shot at 2.4: http://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/99692631...
It doesn't seem bad at all! Is it possible that the camera applies a devignette correction, but by the way the results are good!
A "devignetting" function for the DA70 and any other DA-lens that delivers any photons to the border! That would be typical for "my" Pentax! Gotta Love It!
Frankly, this is the single most innovative camera company on earth. Shows once more that ingenuity often comes when resources are limited.

By the way, I have read that Leica (yes, LEICA) also processes the sensor information of their FF rangefinder cameras at the image borders, to correct errors that arise due to the directional dependence of the sensor sensitivity and the short register distance between lens and sensor.
So we can safely say, such processing (that happens even before recording an image as "raw") is state of the art. And it should be.
