Sharpness is pretty good, isn't it? CA is visible in the corners but that's to be expected, and can be corrected in software, I assume. I wonder how other lenses on the A7 perform. Do you have matching lenses, maybe Zeiss, to compare them to? Then it might be interesting to take pics with both next time.

Also, regarding the depth-of-focus markers on the FA lens. Do they still apply correctly with modern hi-res sensors? Have you tried?

What about a FA 20/2.8 or an optically identical A 20/2.8 lens? I have both. I'm sure they will be sharp in the center, but I'm concerned about corners. Own testing has to be postponed by at least six weeks.

At f/8 all primes are sharp. What's the point?

My lenses are a FA* 80-200 f2.8, a FA* 85 f1.4, a 31 F1.8 limited, a Voigtlander 58 f1.4 and a 1,7x AF adapter
I know those would work in a K-1. I know you made tests with the 85 with a 5D body with very good results http://ricehigh.blogspot.com/2009/01/compatibilit...
What about the 80-200...is there any information about how would this lens perform in a FF body?
Despite the chromatic aberrations, I'm affraid about resolution at corners....36MP are a lot of MP...

That CA in the corners is nothing. Try a DA 17-70 or a 16-45 and get back to me about CA lol. This lens looks really good on FF. I hear all the time this lens is nothing special and overrated. I also hear that it is the best from many lovers of this lens. There seems to be no middle ground. I have to say though, these samples all look like the resolution is mostly pretty good. Note: I do not own one myself, but surely wouldn't mind. :)
