K-7 Limited Silver

A new colour of the K-7 is coming. It's a limited edition:-

(in Japanese)

It will be on sales on March 13 and 1,000 units will be manufactured and sold.

From the past experiences, I bet the K-7 model will come to an end and replacement model will soon follow. That happened exactly with the K20D and K-m, when their Silver and Olive Limited Editions had come - and shortly afterwards replacement models arrived.

Just 1000 units, not many. Wonder what will come after the k7, pentax is making more interesting cameras every year..
There was actually a plan to offer two colors, black and silver, from the beginning, like the old days.

This cam is super sexy.

PS: Take K-7, drop SR, replace it with 36x24 mm², SAFOX 9 --> "The best of the best of the best" cameras

You probably don't use k7 if you say that, droping SR means droping one of the best feature in this camera: autolevel.. Besides APS-C is enough although if it would be a new koncept of an FF camera in the size of a k7 then it's trully Best of the best of the best...

I've used K-7 and I don't need autolevel :)

APS-C is enough for taking pictures, but not for really low DOF. One my friend told me someday, that 4/3 is enough for low DOF - I laughed.

I mean, that everything I wrote is IMHO. SR is cool feature, but it gives additional lag for matrix take-off and for vibration ratio calculations (hand symbol in VF). So... I would prefer faster, stable performance, FF that APS-C and additional stops for non-strait hands :)

Also by dropping SR I mean, that it requires additional space for its mechanism. And for large matrix it would require:

1) more space inside camera

2) stronger magnets

3) higher current

And eventually this will lead to lower shots count and worse stops advantage compareing to APS-C result
I just think that won't be understandable from pentax, look at sony they have SR across all alpha dslrs. It's a key feature of pentax and why they don't make SR in lenses. Besides if you would like to have a new stabilized lens and a very good one, then pentax would shot their knee beacouse you would have to buy sigma or tamron if you had that model.

It's a great looking camera, wish my K-7 was silver. Why drop SR, it works well. I find the limitation is subject movement as SR allows *much* slower shutter speed.
Hi Rice,
I find it very odd that you have missed some Pentax inside information. There will not be just a silver K-7, we will see coloured models as well. (Obviously an orange one for the upcoming soccer worldchampionships).
The proof is a picture I managed to ge hold of of a "certain desk" at Pentax Product Development Division.

Well, Mr. Tapeman, I'd seen your paint job long time ago and I now guess if Hoya/Pentax did get the idea of the coloured K-xes from yours! Man, continue to be creative, good job, nice!

built in lawnmower is next, I am sure
Not "next", it's in some K-x units already, as people have been complaining! Well, it's the evil you did, also! You bad guy.. :-L
