K-30 Test Videos (Spot AF Speed and Continuous Shooting)

Seems to be snappy and decisive enough.

It is just a K-r, I am almost sure! Be prepared for the super vibration accompanied with the super loud sound! :-o

In this kind of lightning, my K-r focuses instantly too...
lets see some low light (EV3 or something like that) focusing tests

In fact, I found that my K-r did focus faster than my K-5 at low light / under yellow light but it is just not accurate! :-o

I'm actually kind of satisfied with the performance of my K-r.
To solve (kind of) the tungsten FF problem, i did something :
Went to debug mode and set it to -60um, and then when im in bright light, i set my menu AF fine adjustment to +6 (so it equals zero), and when i'm under tungsten lightning, i set the AF Fine adjustment to -10 (so it equals -16), and it's super accurate, even with manual lenses, like my 50mm 1.4
I did the same thing but my K-r was accurate already without debug.

But it's kind of a surprise that the K-r focuses faster than the K-5...the thing that bothers me is that the camera is just too hesitant to turn the AF assist light..it takes 1 sec to turn it on. If it were a press-and-turn system (instant), the AF under low light would be muuuuuuuuch better...
Even if the AF assist works, its reach is short and the problem is still there.
K-r af assist is hopeless doesn't come on when it's needed. You can't solve the K-r FF problem because the front focus varies according to focal length. Pentax just abandoned their customers with this problem. I sold my K-r ages ago what a shame because it could have been a great camera.

Some of us turn AF assist OFF. Why so many need GPS to drive....?
If there was a camera that needed AF assist it's the K-r! Nothing to do with GPS just basic focus accuracy (or lack of)
