US Pentax Lens Price Update under Unilateral Pricing Policy

Many are moderately lowered now but some are raised. Still, the original old prices are gone and those were the days!

See the latest price summary on the B&H prices at the Pentax Forums:-

"Few will refute that Pentax's new policy raised the prices of some lenses beyond their value, especially considering that most of them were crop-sensor lenses."

Btw, it can also be seen that Ricoh is trying to set the prices of those few Full Frame Pentax lenses higher and higher. So, what does this imply?

Not sure if any conclusions are in order. Percentage wise, one of the biggest increases still in effect is to the DA 50-200. The slight increases to the FA 43 and FA 50 could be to help the new DA 50.

I think the best conclusion is that the backlash from the massive increase in prices was heard. Justification at the time was to support B&M stores yet unless I missed something, Pentax is not in any more B&M stores than it was 3 months ago. It is concerning that the leadership of the company was so out of touch as to make the original decision. It is heartening that they may have seen the error of their was and reversed it.
The D-FA 100mm Macro went from 599 to 849 to 649. What are they going to say to those who foolishly purchased at $849 ?

Did they actually sell any at $849 ? It kind of pisses me off to see this kind of change. Whoever made these kind of decisions should be sacked.
That's just modern day pentax, out of touch since the mid 80's....
Yup - And I'd like to hear the reaction of Fanboys that all cheered for the price increase - where are you guys now?

Why, why do you do this Pentax? By making this mistake, you pissed off a lot of your existing customers while at the same times not gaining any new ones? I've only heard of the fools what shoot at their own foot, but In Pentax I actually saw such a fool.

Fanboy is here....
They said that Pentax would earn more money and more shops would carry Pentax with that stupid "policy". But just in a few months that business decision has been proven to be wrong! I just wonder why the Pentax decision makers had no basic common sense of any at all, not even to mention foresight! They are just stupid enough to kill the brand and company, things have been made even worse with the fanboys in action, who usually buy little things!
Its hard to understand latest Pentax movements in the market. They seem to ignore what most Pentax useres ask, and they do whatever they want... so who knows. The K30 looks like it will be a very good camera, but they need to release something better to try to recover from all the bad movements they did in the last months/year, like the Q, price increase (everything is said about this), or even the K-01 wich is not selling very good.
As a long-term customer I left Pentax for another system after the price increase. I'm sure I'm not the only one who did this. This decrease will not get me back. I still admire the old Pentax but will only use their legacy lenses on my new system.
