Wow! Weathersealing! Such Innovation! I'm going to start taking bets on how long it takes for this to officially become Rice High's Sony blog.

Pssst... don't tell anyone... but there are rumors that this blog is sponsored by Sony already....
Rice isn't denying it so far and the influx of Sony shills is very telling....

You boys keep coming back reading and posting to these Sony threads. Seemingly multiple times a day if I review the number and times you two have posted to the Sony threads.
So the question is, Is it envy or genuine interest in the camera that keeps you coming back? In any case welcome to the discussion.

It's the sensor that's of interest and not how the sensor is wrapped. Sony can make the best of sensors but cannot make a decent camera around the sensor.

These 24 or 36mp FF sensors may come available to Pentax. Now that would be a pro-grade camera.
Having a sony A7/r allows you to turn night in to day. Sony A7/r + SLR magic 50mm T0.95

is a killer combo. vielen dank!
Well where are the Canon FF news and rumors? Because you know, you can adapt pentax lenses to canon and than use them "as intended":-D I think you give too much space to Sony when there are other alternatives what to do next with your precious pentax lenses. And moreover - if you start to write about canon as well, you can completely eliminate pentax articles!

Really? Tell me more. A 5D Mk III knocks the socks of everything else. If I can use my PK Limiteds on a 5D Mk III, that's me done.
Search google for "pentax lenses on canon". I do not own any canon camera, but i think there is no problem on crop bodies (only adaptor needed) but there is a need for modification on FF ones - you have to remove the bayonet of the lens, than remove the aperture lever so it won't hit the mirror and put the bayonet back. If it is done in this manner, it's fully reversible (AFAIK), but there are some problems with some lenses, where the lever is not easily removable. People bend them or trim them down, but I would not do such a thing to my precious lenses!

I know a few pro-photographers who, after weighing up the A7R and the Oly EM-1 . . . went with the EM-1. Three so far. It was to do with what was around the sensor rather than just the sensor, the technology that brought the sensor and the photographer together is what counted.
I wouldn't trust on the sealing, the dials are probably the weakest point.
Why do I have to be the one to state the obvious? Looks like it handles the soak test better than Pentax.

Really because pentax has failed a soak test? I mean how is this possibly better?
PS I do this to my pentax cameras all the time. Its sometimes the easiest/fastest way to clean them off when they sometimes get mud on them. Pentax cameras are goddamned tough. Would the A7 survive a tripod fall? My K-5 did.
Apparently you’ve never seen tested a Pentax camera. Using a camera for hours in the rain, that’s a test. This test is just peanuts.
Pentax fanboys are like religious fundamentalists. It's useless to argue with them. Everything is sunny and perfect in Pentax land.
You can't argue because you have no point. It's only bla bla.
Here's some more bla bla for you genius: Google "Pentax camera fails water test"
K-5 ii weather resistant sealing failure?
Weather sealing failed on my new K-5
Pentax K-5 Water proofing - false advertising
Youtube: Pentax optio WG-1 GPS Review = FAIL

Now look at "Drown it, Shoot it! - OMD EM1 Timelapse & Water Resistance tests..." on youtube
Google "Olympus OM-D E-M1 fails water test"
But please, Dante, don't act like a child. I have K-5, my son has K20, my daughter - K200. No problems with water in a wast number of tests - we have rather active life, and my children like to impress their friends with waterproof features ). At the same time we all have Sony waterproof phones - me and son Acro S, my wife - Z, daughter - Go. Still no problems, though if you google water tests for those phones, you'll be disappointed. Just get real, don't judge from google.
have a a7r, and a whole load of water got into it when i was in a water ride in disneyland. I can tell you its not weather seal. Shutter dial is screwed.

I own the A7r but don't think it is well water proof, by looking at its construction, e.g. there is no rubber rings at the door covers.
