Super Deluxe A7R Unboxed @ Las Vegas

The pictures are really astonishing! :-o

All the Canon EF lenses were adapted with full AF/AE/IS functions via a Metabones EF to E adaptor. Now Canon users can enjoy a 36MP FF body, finally! ;-p

Btw, once there is a Metabones K to E adaptor which supports full AE and AF functions some day later, than I can safely declare that Pentax is really dead! Who old Pentaxians still need to wait for a Pentax FF body forever then?!

A bit dearer than a K-3 for the body! ;->
The prospect of Pentax's death seems to please you.

That's a sensible but sad prediction which I do not want to see.

If someone cares to look at those comparative pictures, can easily see that Canon 5D, is better that this super-extra-mega Sony, at any ISO. Not to mention colors.

Pentax is ...how? Hmm. Try again, maybe someone will believe you.

The magnification levels of the two sets of cropped images are different, since they are both viewed at 100% but the pixel counts are not the same, i.e., 24 Vs 36MPs.
No. The 5d just doesn't compete anymore. It might have 2-3 years ago, but these new sensors are blowing it out of the water in resolving power and dynamic range. Even the K-5 produces better files at the pixel level than the 5dmk2/3. They gave the mk3 better high iso capability but that's about it. Same limited DR and color depth. Sony has consistently made the best sensors recently and toshiba is now up there too thanks to gaining a bunch of Sony's technology. The best cameras from every smaller class are all using Sony sensors. I gotta give Sony that. And I'm glad too. The K-5 sensor was amazing and so is the k-3s by the looks of it. Their 36mp FF sensor is amazing too. Rice, for all his latest hatred of pentax, has a point. If they came out with a good PK adapter, people with old glass would flock to the A7 in droves. I don't see novoflex investing in developing an aperture coupling mechanism though. Its probably not worth the investment for them. If current rumors are correct, Pentax is supposed to announce something in the way of FF in the next 6 months. Time will tell. I'm still ok with aps-c myself and cannot afford expensive sony zeiss primes anyways.

I emailed DEO-Tech a while back to see if they would make an Eagle II for PK mount. Presently only do Contax G.
A K to E adaptor with a motor and aperture lever should be possible to make, no rocket science, but Metabone probably doesn't care for Pentax.

Because Sony cares for their customers.

In the World of the prosumer camera right now I think the Olympus OM-D EM-1 is probably winning on sales and gaining more interest from the professionals alike.
