Where Are the FA Limiteds Made Now?

Present: Vietnam

But as usual, some of the (fan)boys would still argue that it is "Assembled", not "Made"! :-o

Past: Japan

if they follow the same standard, why not? this way they can save tons of labor cost.

But the real problem is that the standards are not the same, unfortunately! Even the workmanship of just the lens cap is not the same. The old one is more shiny and finer in texture. The new one is duller and more rough for its surface. Well, I have to admit that I have both the new and the old..
I have a silver "made in Japan" and a black "assembled in Vietnam" and to be honest I notice no difference in mechanical or optical quality... Or build quality for that matter, my cap is fine too (maybe more recent production as my black one is very new)...
And then reduce the price. We all heard that at first the factories in Vietnam had some QC issues but now they seem to have been sorted out. In today's world it doesn't matter where things are made.
ALL LIMITED ARE MADE IN VIETNAM NOW from Japanese glass.
So the prices will drop, because slaves are many times cheaper than Japanese men.

For me and many others >Made in Japan< is a hallmark of excellence.

funny it used to be the opposite, only made in germany was good, Japanese stuff was rubbish...
It could be FAKE, 'coz ASSEMBLED IN VIETNAM is not printed at the box, just sticked a piece of paper crookedly .
