If Pentax could put a fast lens comparable to Panasonic's LX3, the sale for this camera could have sky-rocketed..

Then the weight will be nearly doubled and so does the price as well. I think the market of the prosumer DCs have been shrinking and will vanish some days later. For the price of a Pana LX3 or Samsung EX1 or whatsoever, many users would just opt to buy a Sony NEX-3 now, for nearly the same price!

For your reference, the price difference in HK between a brand new EX1 and a NEX-3 single-lens kit set is just (US)$50!

At the end of the day, I think Hoya has been right for marketing the I-10, for both its retro look (the actual selling point), specs/features, size/weight and price point.
I suppose that silver editions have specific meaning in Pentax product line - something like: "be ready for jump". May be the I-10 conception will be developed in something new in near future. Let's hope till Photokina :)
