New DA560 Test Review: "Disappointed"!

http://bbs.dgtle.com/thread-148282-1-1.html
(in Simplified Chinese)

The reviewer writes that he is rather disappointed about the IQ and usability of this expensive lens of Pentax. Purple fringing is obvious, stopping down is the only mean for better resolution, but then at f/8 using a lens with this long focal is actually impractical and rather difficult to use. The author also writes that this focal is indeed odd and not so useful. AF of this lens is fast enough, though, but the author doesn't think that good AF is meaningful when the IQ and usability of the lens is low.

Last week I tried it in the field for about two hours, I didn't have the best light and subjects. So far what I can tell you is, its simply not in the same league as a Canon or Nikon, it is about 80-85% but the price is half or about. The focus is not that fast, on par with the DA*300, no more. Once you get the subject on focus, with either the K5, K5 II or K5 IIs, it keeps it locked. As for a purple fringing, my pictures do not show it, even in contrasty light. I have a chance to test it again before the end of the month and I will let you know. Strangely I feel that this lens should be in the $4,000 range, not at a current available price of around $6,500. By he way it is a very light lens to carry around, either handheld or on a tripod, the foot is placed too far ahead, it should be a few inches farther back, you have to get too far back behind to get a good grip, it feels a bit unbalanced. Construction quality is 10/10.
Purple fringing is not problem of lens only, it's sensor's problem, first of all.
FA77 has much higher PF than DA560, but FA77 is outstanding lens.

Bokeh is really pleasant for my eyes. The sharpness is very high.

A lot of Chinese nonsense from Canon's fan in this review...
You must have read a different review to the one you linked Rice. Your hysterical anti-Pentax ravings continue.

It's a telescope design. PF experts like falconeye have discussed it at length. It is priced too high for the amount of glass present. The FA600 is a much better lens for what used to be the same price (Good luck getting it now. This turkey has only increased demand for the FA600).

FA*600 was more expensive. USD10 000 by order.
I presume that when we see the day you post something about some knowledgable person praising a Pentax product, we'll owe you a drink then?
In the meantime, thanks for starving us with junk "news" provided by the incompetent.

The posted pictures speak themselves, what do you still want to argue and defend?
I recently purchased an FA* 300 F4.5 Pentax lens S/H,while there, the guy showed me his M42 Optic 560mm F7.1 telescope lens, this simple construction couplet lens costs 470 euros + adapters, the guy invited me to take a few shots with my K5 mounted on it, the results were frankly amazingly sharp with great bokeh, rack and pinion focusing with a ten to one reduction gear. So for 500-600 euros you get a very sharp lens of similar dimensions as the Pentax, minus side, no AF,fixed aperture, but you keep 6,000 euros in your pocket.
