Ricoh GR DxOMark(s) Published, Worse than the Pentax K-5II/s'

See the side-by-side comparison here.

Despite that the GR and the K-5II/s are both using the same APS-C sized Sony sensor, the scores of the GR in every aspect are just worse. Is it owing to different processing for both hardware and software?

Maybe that demonstrates that the DxOMarks is not exactly as accurate as they let us believe? Don't buy a camera by some specifications done by a third party. The real test is by taking pictures or read evaluations made by someone that has pictures comparison...not specs.

Nope, GR is really worse than A in the tests done by dxo. Their tests are accurate. However this does not mean that it is a worse camera than the A. There are other factors that more than make up for the slightly noisier GR pictures. A sharper lens is one of them.
Funny....GR has a bit better colour depth. The difference - 0.8%. The dynamic range - 2% difference in favor of Nikon.
Noise - 1/4 stop difference. :))) Is it really worse???? LMAO

I stand corrected. DXO is able to detect differences so slight that even our eyes has difficulty in telling. They are accurate, it really is worse. If you can say otherwise with real data to back that up, by all means, do it. If not, then I suggest you refrain from letting us know the level of your knowledge regarding this matter.
DxOMark doesn't measure image sharpness, nor the ultimate actual resolution. It only jet in a plain pattern of different brightness levels, and then measures the random noise levels, i.e, the background noise.
Don't cry, Rice.
It's test of "close to be naked SENSORS", not cameras, Rice.

It is the sensor + processor (hardware and software algorithms).
12 bit vs. 14 bit
They are not the same sensor. GR sensor is from K30/K01 family.

Also, keep in mind that 5 points difference in dxomark is only 1/3 stop difference.

That's nothing that matters in real life.

See detailed measurement, especially real ISO data - GR and Nikon A have the same sensor.
And again 12bit raw (ricoh) vs 14 bit raw (nikon)... So ricoh/pentax have done a better job with the sensor
I thought 14 bit was better?
Yes it is, but if you look at the numbers, ricohs 12 bit version is not far behind nikons 14 bit...so better job done. Think what numbers ricoh could have been if they chosed to do 14 bit as well...
What would really deserve a headline would be that a Pro-Amateur DSLR was worse than a Pro-Amateur Compact... not the opposite..

Zzzzzz. So boring you have to admit. Yet another APS-C camera. $800 to boot. No thanks no matter the DXO score.

Release the full frame to compete with the D600 already! Or at least make the 645D affordable. $2750.00 new for 645D sounds about right based on camera trends.

Dear Ricehigh, "worse" is the wrong wording.
The K-5 have had the highest APS-C mark at DXO Mark not too long ago and K-5 and K-5 II are still among the very best APS-C cameras, IQ-wise.
Title Correction!
"Not as good as Pentax K-5IIs"

Doesn't it just mean the same?
Just get out and shoot. I mean look at the greats at what they had....
