The Last Published Lens Roadmap Had Only New DA Lenses, Why Expected Full Frame?!

So, dear Pentaxians, please wake up and don't dream and imagine anymore! :-o I now realise one fact, finally, asking for a 135 full frame body and system from Pentax is just like asking FF from Pana and Oly, frankly! :-\ At the end of the day, Pana and Oly are only producing 4/3 cameras, which is the same case of Pentax for being only APS-C for the K-mount, maybe forever! >:-(

On the other hand, what new Pentax lenses will get on show in the Photokina? I've heard that a new DA18-210 WR DC lens and the DFA645 90/2.8 should be released as planned, whilst the DA560/5.6 will be delayed.

  2. i guess they won't announce the ff lenses separately since this would cannibalise the sale of their current da line-up :-). if a ff camera will be announced, ff lenses will be announced together with it and most probably a new ff roadmap. it's pretty strange since they're not discontinuing the current dfa line-up and actually introduced the new wr 100mm macro.
    time will tell ;-)

In your opinion, da lenses means crop lenses? I heard only tahat they are developed for digital, not a sigle word about sensor size ;)

  4. I agree with Tudor. Putting FF lenses in road map is like opening your cards in poker game...

IIRC Nikon denied they're working on a FF until they launched one. Why would Pentax be different?
Not that I'm holding my breath...

Well, when that Roadmap was released someone asked the Pentax representative if there where things that weren't shown in the roadmap, and the answer was "of course there are...".

If Pentax is making a FF (and I'm not saying they are making one), and keeping as a secret, there's no point in puting in a roadmap 4 D-FA lenses with classic FF focal range, because it would be too easy to guess what would happen next.

If I have to guess, I do not think Pentax will release a FF anytime soon (even if some people related to pentax insists me in the contrary, I already lost that hope years ago), but I also think that roadmap clarifies nothing.

A new FF is possible in the style Fujifilm Xpro whit a FF sensor, 3 new lenses in a first time.

On the lens road map on the bottom of page is "*" and info: "Road map may vary in response to market situation" and this "*" is directed to 2013 or later. Who knows what does it mean? They know ;)

If I'm to announce a brand new FF digital camera by surprise, I'd make sure Internet and blog sites like this would be the last place to know whether am I planning a small assortment of lenses to go along with it ...
