just my guess
standard 50 = FF35 and some 50 f 1.7, but DA is more like crop...
not too impressed. still missing fast wr primes with sdm motor a la 55/1,4...:(. anyway - at least they released it, now hopefully they'll manufacture them :D

It does say subject to change to market conditions. So there is plenty of scope for DFA lenses later to be added!
I want this DA* 16-85 lens NOW and not 2013 or later.....
I'll take a 50mm f1.7/f1.8 please
I want a da24/2.0!
Still no prime in the most popular focal length, something like a 35mm equivalent! 35mm equivalent s the most popular lens to take as a single lens. Or at least a 28mm equivalent prime. Are there photographers left in Pentax?

Disappointed, but some hope.

da22-38 limited makes no sense on APSC. But if it's for full frame, isn't FA20-35 a better range?

da12-28 is APSC for sure.

da120-380 better be fast.

550 and 1.4TC is the best news here!
Agh! Why are some people NEVER happy!

Unless you are a professional shooting some very specific things like high speed sports or wildlife, there is a lens for you here. And that is just from Pentax and just what is in current production. Sigma and Tamron make a broad range of Pentax mount lenses and the secondary market for Pentax is HUGE.

True, there are some gaps. Goodness there is no 19mm prime. Or a 62mm. Or a 41-93mm zoom! How in the world can we live without the 41-93mm zoom!!!

You can always complain about the lenses that are MISSING. Me, I am going to keep shooting with the ones that exist.

Pentax has 24 lenses in production, 7 pending

By comparison, Nikon has 75. But if you are comparing apples to apples, Nikon only has 23 lenses with VR where as EVERY pentax lens benefits from in body SR. And only 22 of those will autofocus on every Nikon currently selling. In fact, of the 75 lenses, 20 wont autofocus on a D5100 or lower and 11 are manual focus.

Think about that, if you want a lens that does everything we expect as normal on a Pentax, you are limited to 23 Nikon lenses - one less than pentax has in production RIGHT NOW. 9 of those 22 have an MSRP of $5000 or more.

we still need a 28mm lens for the equivalent 40mm prime, which some of us see as essential,
and the true normal lens. if you shoot zoom, that covers it. but some of us prefer to shoot
with a prime lens only.

why is it so hard to offer something that's the equivalent of the much-loved 43mm lens?
after all, we're only asking what pentax used to offer in the film days. and some of us
choose pentax because they are the one if you like shooting primes. come on pentax,
we're not asking you to jump through hoops.
Any serious DSLR camera system must include a 35mm equivalent prime lens, i.e. 24mm prime lens. All camera makers have it except Pentax. All those makers also have a versatile 24-110+ mm equivalent zoom, i.e. 16-75+ mm, except Pentax. Those are the most sought after lenses, and probably most people would want even if they have just one prime, or if you have just one zoom. Even Sony with its limited range has these. Why not Pentax. Strange.

Just came across that one: http://www.photoscala.de/Artikel/CP-2012-Pentax-z... Tethering for 645d at least, Super-Tele and some more stuff... Nice.
There is no DA 31mmf1.8. It is FA31mmF1.8. There should be a DA31mmf1.7 or f1.8. This is a huge gap in the pentax line.
