Take it easy, rice. Which part of the statement are you mad about? The part where Pentax SLR was made first by the Asahi Optical Co. seems right on the money.
Its because Pentax has been renamed to ricoh imaging americas. they are not rewriting history here. well, slightly actually. the first Asahi SLR was not named pentax.....asahiflex I believe....
hoya is also part of pentax history.

should written ricoh image, previous known as hoya pentax, was originally under asahi, has made pentax camera, based on asahi reflex, which turns into m42 mount. the k mount is later replaced
Yes they do, do you?

mellow dude, Brian McIntosh has good marketing history when he worked for other companies (Sun)
Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation never was Asahi Optical Joint Stock Co.
It's lie.

Now I will say openly what the reason is. My work is translation. I usual work is translation. I translate from English into my native language, Lithuanian. What is my experience in over 20 years of translation is that English is a silly language. ABSOLUTELLY silly. For example, they write in their articles that Roman General Titus attacked so an so... But they have no idea that there were no "generals" at the Roman area, only war leaders. Same thing here!!!

Yes, it does sound silly, doesn't it? Especially that very confusing ".. Americas Corporation" part, which implies that today's office in Denver has accomplished all the amazing historic work worldwide.
now I think I could start to write the globle history since BC2000 to year 3000 by myself, yo~!

This is correct, what is wrong with it? Ricoh bought Pentax, Pentax's history has become Ricoh's history once they merged.
Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation -> which used to be Pentax Imaging , was founded under the name Asahi Optical Joint Stock Co.
What is the contention here really?

What, everyone is surprised by this corporate cannibalism!? Ricoh paid for the right to appropriate Pentax history. Is this absurd? The whole world is absurd. Pentax is now part of the corporate body of Ricoh, which has a long and interesting history itself. See Camerapedia.
So "Ricoh bought Pentax" leads to "Ricoh is as old as Pentax".
I just bought some real estate. On it there are trees over 100 years old.
So that makes me a 100-year-old, right? I'm feeling pretty healthy for my new age.

One more, just a side note: Ricoh _bought_ Pentax. This was an acquisition. Not a merger.

The nation now known as U.S.A. was originally founded in 10000 BC under the name of India. :P
