HD Pentax D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6

So, the symbolic green rings of the digital line of PENTAX lenses are back finally and the two new lenses are undoubtedly equipped with the latest HD coating. Ricoh finally has recognised that they had done something very wrong marketing wise. Everything looks much better now and it does not hurt the feeling of we stubborn old Pentax brand fanboys anymore! ;-p

Well it does include HD in it's name! So undoubtedly it would have the HD coating. Undoubtedly. :-)

Bring on a full-frame body, not a top one but one that will compete with the likes of Canon 6D and Nikon D610, add a better weather sealing and make it less expensive than the Nikon D750 and people will buy it. I really hope that 2015-2016 will be the years of Pentax resurrection.

I'm not sure, maybe now the ring is green for Full Frame format and the red ring for APS-C is it possible? perhaps as a way to differentiate, with news of these lenses is clear that a new FF camera format is very close, Greetings

Yes!! Finally some good news from Pentax! After I had given up and started to sell my lenses.

And I only sold my FA31 with wobble hood, the most overrated of the legendary lenses! Glad no one would buy my FA* lenses at a reasonable price too!

Full frame and green rings!

Exactly wrong. Rice has always been the biggest fanboy. He has a collection of Pentax lenses and wants the best for the brand. They just were going in the wrong direction with APS-C, changes of ownership, etc..., for years!

Could someone please explain why a red or green ring on a lens is a good or bad thing?

Or, put another way: who has ever based a purchase decision on the color of that ring?
