Size of the New FF Body

So, it is somehow big, as many Pentax fanboys have complained for years for *all* 135 Full Frame bodies of other brands. So, what would they say now? :-P

Besides, just found this PS job at the Chinese Xitek forum, does the mockup feel more realistic now? ;-D

"I am retired and have a bad back. I don't want to lug around a brick all day. It's not my shooting style". said once by a Pentaxian about the 5DMKII. If you want a small FF camera, it's the Sony A7II. However, I do envy the DA40mm 2.8; it would be a perfect match for the A7II.

The optical quality of the DA40XS is inadequate for Full Frame. I tried that on my 5D3 long ago (and actually published several post here). The FA43 is much better, though. Corner to corner sharpness can be achieved across the full frame with the 5D3 at f/4, whilst with my A7R, stopped down to f/5.6 is required, if the picture is to be viewed in 100%.
I must say it is a handsome camera, not to small, not too big. Now, Ricoh needs to updates many new FA lenses. Most of FA lenses are great for 10-12 MP sensor, but not 24MP or above.

Most of my FA primes do quite well on my A7r, no problem for 36MP when stopped down. On the other hand, old Pentax zoom lenses cannot withstand such high resolution in 135, they need to be redesigned.

Which specifically FA lenses that are quite good on 36 MP FF sensor? Is 31mm f/1.8 is the best of all? 43mm and 77mm are cool, but I read in photozone they are struggling a bit (mostly CA problem) with K5 (16 MP APS-C) sensor.
43mm is quite good overall when stopped down, the 31 struggles a bit at the corners for resolution even stopped down. CA of the 77 is the problem only at wide apertures and for shooting high contrast scenes, otherwise it is really fine, so does the FA*85, of which the CA could be more obvious, even at stopped-down.
I'm using a Rayqual adapter (as well as the Novoflex). Tbe Rayqual has these baffles in it to stop barrel flare. My 31 is smokin' hot on the A7r. 43 too. The 77 is spectacular. Not tried my PK 50/1.2 or 50/1.7 although my Revuenon 55/1.2 MC is intensely sharp wide open (beats me, dunno how?).

what about the F fisheye zoom? Isn't it good? Also, have to believe 80-200 f2.8 is great too.
The fisheye zoom is good on my 5D3. Its colour rendition and 3d feel are nice. There is little CA, too. But don't pixel peep, especially not on the image corners and even more so with the A7r.
What lenses did you buy for your 5DIII ? In my experience, the EF 40 2.8 and the EF 85 1.8 suck the least.
Also have a Tamron 90 2.8 Macro for Canon and Nikon and access to an oldie but a goldie Tamron 90 2.5 AF for Pentax.
I have both the EF40 and EF85/1.8, they performed okay on my 5D3, but of course the FA*85 is superior! :-)
I dare to say I am one of the most experienced FF shooters with Pentax film lenses btw! ;-)

Doesn't really change the original argument that mirrored FF bodies are bigger than the apsc counterpart. Plus it is still a mockup, changes might still be made to size or shape.

But I think more concern or focus should be given to the space allowance around the lens mount? It seems to indicate that whatever future lens diameter might be bigger. That of course is just pure speculation on my part.

It would be a shame to lose a small, compact design but if this is offset by a range of beautifully made lenses, so be it. Que sera sera.

I was looking for the specifications. However, it is FULL FRAME!!!, that is all I care, and Pentax had been innovative in past. I am sure Pentax will have several specifications in this camera which would separate it from the crowd.

No matter how, I will buy it without doubt, like what I did eleven years ago for my *ist D!
Good. That'll do nicely.

i am not a fanboy or hater, but it is "not big" unless you think k-5 is big! the mockup is a bit bigger than k-5 that is all i can tell.
