any doubts regarding sensor size?...

A ff and aps-c?!
What for is this hump under the "K-3" inscription? Just some kind of grip?

I think I just fell in love.......

Seriously, I cannot think of anything I really need more if this is what it is rumored to be. The only thing that concerns me is if the 24mp Sony sensor is that great of leap from the 16 mp sensor. The Toshiba sensor Nikon is using really seems to be an improvement, but the Sony, not so much.

But, if this has the high FPS, has faster AF, has an audio monitoring port, and all that normal Pentax goodness, I just don't know why I would wait for the FF. If this has some sort of video out to see what I am shooting and takes the same batteries as the K-5, K-5II and my K-01, well then I will be overjoyed.

One other question - is the new Pentax flash system compatible with the older 360/540 FGZ flashes? I can understand if the new flashes will not wirelessly fire from older camera bodies, but I really want the new bodies (and flashes) to be able to be masters and controllers that can fire older units - that would allow me to get a new weathersealed 360 or 540 and fire my two 360s.

No big deal that bump on the side. Maybe improves lefthanded handling. The rest are similar to actual K-5

Is the the new k-3 ?
Looks like they employed Marc Newson again ;-)

I didn't read the article but that looks like a camera designed by engineers to be used by engineers. Meaning, that's probably a good functioning prototype to test out all the inner workings.

Everyone knows it's an APS-C (Pentax will die with APS-C inside), but I can't see why they would make the body differant (let alone uglier) when the added cost improves nothing. Of course Ricoh has misled Pentaxians time and time again and we expect to see little or no improvement. If you want to start a rumor that will probably come true, tell FanBoys it comes in 31 colors thanks to Baskin Robins.

But there's a chance it's not APS-C! Could be one in a million, but there is a chance!
I lost hope when I saw that it has a RAW button.
Prism part of that body looks similar in size to K-5 so it is rather APS-C. FF would need much bigger prism to give 100% field of view.

It looks much like the K-5 II which looked just like the K-5 which looked like the K-7 (yawn!). I'm still waiting for an FF.

this picture is a fake , so why so much discussions for nothing

I have doubts regarding the picture in general.
The image looks like it was pasted together from a series of other images, the ring closest to the body is cut off. everything about it looks horrible and wrong
Its not a legit image

So, those of you who are still Pentaxians: What does Fx mean? In Nikon lingo this is the synonym of full frame.

Anyone notice the "AF Mode" button? And the AF switch no longer has the continuous and single shot modes. This gives me hope that they have finally overhauled the AF system, as the rumors have described in the past.

Still, it's too soon for me to upgrade my K-7, only one button missing right now.

RiceHigh: Considering you posted about the Milbeaut image processor in August of 2012, I'm surprised you haven't made a post about the official release of the 7th generation (which Pentax calls PRIME III and will be found for the first time, I believe, in the K-3). See links to the Fujitsu pages in my PentaxForums post: http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-news-ru...

People seem to be overlooking that THIS is what is enabling Pentax to make full use of the 24MP sensor (which would have been crippled before, as it has been in the Sony DSLRs). Yes, the sensor is important, but what you do with the information generated by the sensor is JUST as important.

@ rataskanken, the fx writing is present in all cameras, beside the raw writing upon that button. doesn't mean nothing similar of Nikon Fx, It's still an aps-c, but it will be the (i hope so!) best aps-c EVER...
@maksa THAT dial button is the best improvement that Pentax give to us, dynamic photographers with the camera EVER at our side. The mode doesn't change random and without control, and that's all for that wonderful button...
@ adrianpglover hopefully the af mode button upon that old dial will be a better control (tracking focus and similar), consequence of NEW af module? I hope so...
The ultimate APS-C camera?

The only place this camera will be a hit is Pentax Forums. Where all the folks are sitting around a circle with their hands moving fast in each others lap. Some of them boys think it might be the same battery as the K-5 and think that beats out both Nikon and Cannon FF offerings.

I have a K-5 & K-5IIS, how many of you are really going to buy it (before Christmass) and how many won't?

Strange unbalanced looking camera. Not a good sign. The PF thread on this picture has countless jokes about the so-called "hump." It is never good for a new camera to be ridiculed like this. Remember the K-01?

I don't agree with you about the K-3, but I do remember the K-01 being widely referred to as an ugly brick, and the K-30 was dissed as looking like a sport shoe with bandaids on it. That didn't help. Both were fine cameras!
