The photos are yellow/orange casted as what *ist DS sometimes tends to be for its AWB and tendency. I still like the colour response of the Takumar more nevertheless, no matter for the original picture that has the cast or the post processed and colour corrected one. The FA77 is sharper (comparatively the Takumar is softer) and more contrasty, though, but whether one likes it or not would be subjective.

I would suspect the 77 is the best lens to use, because it is easier to colour-correct in post (and soften if need be)!

Short result from my point of view: I understand that Pentax developed the DA 70. The 77 is difficult to handle in high-contrast situations. Purple fringing is everywhere. The half-stop advantage over the 70 (1.8 vs. 2.4) does not outweigh this disadvantage. In addition, the 77 is heavier than the 70.
End result: I will use the 70 and keep the 77 just as a collection object (and the occasional portrait shot inside, with low contrast and good lighting).
Very disappointed with the 77. I think it is overrated.
85? (i) No longer manufactured (ii) Too expensive on the second-hand market (iii) Too big (iv) Too close to the smaller 100WR, which is a fine lens and macro-capable.
So my vote goes to the 70 and 100WR. Very nice lenses. I fully understand Pentax' decision to discontinue the 85 and to develop the 70 and 100WR.

Ergo: a FF DSLR is very unlikely to come from Pentax.
That is fine with me. Better they focus their efforts on a K-5 successor (including GPS, wireless flash, and other improvements that are more important than FF).
