Open Letter from the Head of Pentax Camera Division, Mr. Toshiaki Iue

Photo Romors has published such a letter which is "just in", see:-

http://photorumors.com/2011/07/01/open-letter-from-hoya-to-valued-pentax-customers-and-partners/

I think the two most important messages as it looks are: 1. "All employees will be transferred to the new company accordingly."; 2. "Also, all current products will continue to be sold with the PENTAX brand name under current operations.".

But do note about the wording of "current product" of the latter! Do you think there is any hidden meaning/hint btw?

what about this???

"PENTAX, under the guidance of RICOH, will continue with our best effort to grow and evolve our business and partnerships and deliver quality products and services designed for a high level of customer satisfaction."

I think Pentax will go on like it did under Hoya (I haven't seen any HOYA camera's)
They need to invest in F. Frame Cameras... and a better AF system !!! I think that this Q is a waste of money!!! I own a K-5 it so much better than D300 in IQ and handling, but still the AF is must be much better!!!
I think we need to write an open letter back to them with what we want from Pentax. full frame, better AF..etc

we must !!!!!!!!!
PENTAXIANS NEED A BETTER AF!!! AND FF CAMERA ... and NOT THE FF ISSUE !!!!
That's the problem with using all these acronyms. We wanted a full frame camera and talked about FF and that's what they gave us: front focus.
hehe

A K5 with a full frame sensor for the price of a D7000 would be very pleasing. But I am sick of waiting for this to happen.

What planet is this logic coming from? :o) How about golden nuggets for free? It's well documented now that digi FF in not making good profit. To stay alive, Pentax can't get into such experiments any more.

645D is their better than FF answer you may not be able to afford, but it makes them PROFIT. And QI of FF advantage is shrinking anyway, except for the obvious...
lol.. very true
We do have Front Focusing (FF) Pentax cameras for long! So, your dream is realised! ;-)
